I am fairly certain my landlord would show up in less than two years if I ceased paying rent. Just a hunch.

If he had it set up to automatically pay the bills from his bank account & had direct deposit of retirement/disability payments then it might take a while for the money to run out. |

A friends sister was complaining about this funky smell in her apt building in NYC, turns out the guy below her was dead for some time, they found him last week. EEEWW!
