Mountain Dew is Mixing MD 20/20 and grape soda? I can see why it's called pitch black, you'll be blacked out.

I have not tried it, but I am expecting a 30 case delivery at my store today, making a case display to go with the Halloween set. I like all MD's "special" flavors, so I should like this one, as well!

I live in Coca-Cola land so I may have to go to Bama to get some...Mountain Dew(sheesh). I will check the QT though, they have the best soda selection of anyone. Thanks for the heads up!

My son brought some of this home the other day. I tried it, and it seems like there's a lot more carbonation than usual. And it tastes like... grape soda.

Funny thing is, I ABOSOLUTELY HATE grape soda (or pop, whichever your regional slang) but as I type this I have a large glass of ice cold Welch's Grape Juice in front of me. I can drink the stuff all day. Kinda funky, huh? |

Got a sample bottle yesterday. It was alright.
Last night on the way to work I bought another bottle. It ain't bad. Hard to describe. Kinda' the sweetness of Mtn. Dew with a tart grape soda flavor. I taste the grape more than the Dew. |

I love it. Best flavor yet.
It's not a mixture, though. Like Livewire and Code Red, it's a new flavor. Tastes like... muscadine grapes. Anybody else ever have those? They taste different than concord or other grapes. Kind of musky-smoky. Baja Blast is good too. I think all these should become regular flavors instead of just seasonals. |

I hate trying these limited edition things....Once I really start to like it..they can the flavor and I am left with a feeling of great loss...
kinda like crystal pepsi...I'd give a kidney for a few cases of that.

I can't stand regular Mountain Dew but I really like the Code Red and LiveWire stuff. I saw Pitch Black in a store the other day and had to give it a try because I like grape soda, but I wasn't impressed. Too sweet and not enough grape flavor. I'll be sticking with LiveWire while it's available then switching back to Code Red for the winter.
For grape I'll stick with Stewart's. |

I got to try some pre-market samples a while back and although I usually don't care for grape soda, I thought it was pretty good.
We are expecting it to be a big success as all the Dew line extensions have done well. The dramatic look of the package should definately create some attention. |

Disgusting! I'm a die-hard Mountain Dew fan - hell, I can survive on it for weeks if necessary - so I had to give Pitch Black a try. I bought a 12-pack when I was getting other groceries, and tried it once I got home.... and it was terrible! DO NOT BUY IT UNLESS YOU'RE INTO S&M - it's that bad!!
