I vaguely remember talking to marstar a number of years ago about doing the same thing on a Garand, and there was some reason that it wasn't possible - but I cannot remember why.

I think it being a Norinco would prevent you from legally bringing it in. My brother has one that came in years ago, and it is actually pretty nice, the GI stock and bolt did wonders for it, as well as the GI trigger group. If you can figure a way to get them in legally let me know, I would love to buy one at that price (just think a half decent .308 for the same price as a SAR1).

Thats pretty cheap !!! Last one I saw at a gun show they were asking 695.00 for one, I also think there was some issue about these awhile back about the parts not being Heat Treated right , I read about this some where but cant remember where at, having a senior moment here, somebody here will chime in with the know of it, for what its worth ,I have one of the Norinco 1911A1's and it shoots perfect, 600+ rds through it and not one problem with it !!
