They look silly(gay) just like a 16" with an A2 buttstock looks silly.

I think they are an excellent idea for use with body armor, LBE, or smaller shooters (girlfriend or wife) who want to shoot the 20". I mean, I plan on having one after the sunset.

It's your rifle, set it up the way you see fit. It doesn't matter what the internet commandos have to say about it, if they don't like it remind them that they don't have to shoot it.

They tend to be front heavy. But still a good idea for body armor, goggles or forward mounted optics.

Call it what you want to, but my 20" has a 4-position stock and I would never go back to an A1/A2 stock. I'm 6'3" and can shoot it with the same east as my 5'4" wife.

I've seen pics of a few from Iraq. Seems to make sense if you are wearing body armor. But it does take some getting used to the look.

I think it's a good idea. Use a solid stock like a Vltor or Magpul, and you're GTG.

To answer the question, The AWB! When that is over, I intend to buy a telescoping stock for my AR10. I have a 20" and a 16". I love the "kit gun" idea.

Now wait a minute. If you use a 16" with a buttstock for awhile you might change your mind. I agree that -- to me -- a 20" AR with a collapsable looks a little "off" but they do have their uses I suppose since people have them. The H&K 91/93 with a collapsable stock looks a little funny too, but I really like 'em. |
