I had to watch it like 5 times in 11th grade Lit, along with The Color Purple over 2 dozen times.

I dont care for it.

Me and my little guy watch it at least 3 times a week, He is only one and a half and really diggs it.....It is one of the only disney movies that I can sit through, just because of how into that movie he gets.

Watched it just last night with my Nephew. He liked it. But when he went to bed, the movie was left on and I didn't realize I was watching it... Turned it off about halfway through and logged on to ARFCOM.

Hey, wasn't there a rumor that someone put the word "sex" into it somewhere? I personally never saw it.

Yeah, actually it was "SFX", a shout-out to the special effects team.

Now the penis on the cover of The Little Mermaid was for real.

IMHO, any movie that humanizes the "animal kingdom" is only contributing to the cause of PeTA and the like.

Oh yeah, Elton John sucks.

I've seen Lion King 1, 1 1/2, and 2 about 100 times. It's getting old as you might guess. My personal favorite kiddie flicks are "Spirit" and "Ice Age".

BUT,

I have a really fond memory of sitting at a party w/ an old friend who wanted to remember the little "dress in drag and do the hula" bit...so we watched it (and sang it) over and over until she remembered it.

I have most of Disney's better animated movies on DVD or laserdisc...and I don't have any kids!

Good flicks, one and all. There's at least one that I've seen so many times that I think I've memorized every word in the script. I can watch it with the sound off and miss nothing.

But, being a video purist, I was very disappointed that the DVD transfer of Pocahontas was grainy
and appeared to come from a well-used distribution print. The LaserDisc version is much cleaner.
Disney can afford to do better than that.

Those hyenas almost stole the movie!

Timon and Pumba really DID steal it. And got their own show for it,
which was always very entertaining. I caught it when I could.

There's so much to like about The Lion King it's pointless to try to list it all in one posting.
It has to be on almost everybody's favorites list.

That statement just begs all kinds of questions.

Did you use it to dig your way out of a snowdrift?

How did breaking your leg relate to Mufasa's death and Simba's exile and return?

Were you in the depths of despair, ready to give up, when a baboon/mandrill type critter helped you get your head on straight?

Were hyenas chasing you down the slope when you broke your leg?
