Lightning capital of the world. I used to live in Brandon. There sure were some impressive lightning shows during the summer.

Swimming in my Mom's pool in Dunedin, thunder is heard of in the distance, my mother comes out and says, "you better gat out of the pool. Thunder storm is coming this way." "Yeah yeah yeah it's still too far off." "This area is the lightning capital of the world! You need to get out now!" "Mom, you worry to damn...Zzzzzzaaaaap!" I got out of the pool by means of walking ACROSS the water. ETA: First time I ever saw my mother laugh so hard that not only was she crying but couldn't breath. |

Yep . I miss the beach at times , But I figured if I move this far north I could maybe figure out why all the snow birds can't fucking drive .

Yesterday afternoon we had several "Blue Sky" bolts strike around the neighborhood.

Z-hills. Someone working on a roof in Port Charlotte took a blue sky strike yesterday I think. A number of kids in the Tampa area were hit too.
I've had strikes very close to my place for years this is the first year I've been hit. It hit one of my palms and from there followed the wiring for my porch lights into the house and fried a bunch of stuff.
