I was reading through the stories on the MMM site and came across this. I hope this was intentionally over the top, but wow. Any guesses what the actual weapon or bullets were?

We should ALL flood the site with with some made-up touchy-feely story about how little Willy was killed, caused by a supposedly banned full auto bullet hose with the most thrusts per squeeze and that we picked it up at the local uncontrolled gunshow for $50 and the guy gave us 1000 free rounds of Cop Killer bullets to go along with the gun.

This one time, at band camp, a kid came into the trumpet blower section and sprayed us with his mig-22 chock full of flak-jak brand rimfire primed class 3 armor peircing .22 caliber rounds.  Lucky for us the mig was made in the check republix and jammed up.  Thats what he gets for buying machine gun pistals from good-will in the first place but he could have killed everyone within three miles if the clip did't jamm up!!

The police didn't show up for 3 hours because the know that flak-jak brand rimfire primed class 3 armor peircing .22 caliber rounds will go right through the engines of armored cars and tanks.

I sure miss going to band camp....

Another letter, however this one is one of us. It's well written and takes a understated shot at gun control

Posted by Gerald (Alexandria,VA):
I was the victim of gun violence on Thanksgiving eve, 1967, almost 37 years ago. I was 29 years old and I still carry the physical damage from that assault. My assailants were armed with Saturday Night specials and were just out doing crime, which is still very popular in Washington.

I had gone to Georgetown about 11PM to get something to eat. Because of the congestion I parked on 35TH Street, by Visitation, and walked down to Wisconsin Ave. When I returned 3 people robbed me and then shot me.

I almost died of shock since the bullet went through the superior mesenteric artery and the inferior vena Cava. The pancreas was also seriously damaged which ended the career I had just started as a pilot because I became diabetic.

I was devastated. I couldn’t understand why people who had just gotten out of prison (actually, one was an escapee) would be allowed to have guns. I am a native Washingtonian and I would rather live in Washington more than anywhere else in the world. But I wanted to live in a jurisdiction with common sense gun safety laws for my own protection. Washington was just much too violent! It always has been. The city will do nothing to reduce gun crime.

I moved to Virginia because they have the best common sense gun safety laws and consequently the lowest rate of violence in the area according to FBI statistics. I like Virginia but I miss Washington terribly. And of course I long for a career in aviation, which will never happen, since I am diabetic because of the pancreas injury.

I wish Washington (and Maryland too) would pass common sense gun safety laws to reduce violence in their jurisdictions.

Last year my poor son Brian was gunned down at school.  He was shot nine times with a .50 BMG assault weapon, which I've been told the military uses to shoot down enemy airliners.  The murderers father had purchased it at a gun show and did not put a trigger lock on it.  My son had done nothing wrong, other than being accused of being a bully by the murderer.  I thought that all rifles were banned in 1994 and no more could be sold.  If we cannot get the ban passed again then I am definately moving to california were these weapons are a felony to possess.

I'm writing you to tell you of my son, Elmer. Elmer was 11 when he was taken from us. He was on a hunting trip, hunting rabbits. He was mistakingly shot by a hunter using a 40watt plasma rifle.

He was microwaved on the spot. These new and more lethal  weapons are more dangerous than Mk-17 or the deaded mig-22's..

With the wide spread use of spent nuclear fuel rods...more weapons like this will be made avaiable to street thugs and despots worldwide...

You've heard the terms "more thrust per squeeze" and "bullet hose".  You hear the anti gunners claiming that illegal MGs can be purchased by felons at gun shows.  You hear claims like ".50 BMGs can shoot down airplanes", "pistol grip equipped guns allow for quick accurate fire from the hip".  These are all they false claims, and they use them EVERY day to gain support for their cause.  No one in the media or in DC ever challenges these false claims.  And these lies still ALWAYS end up in the news.

So we don't want to give them more lies to use in the war on guns.  Hey, it sounds like fun at first, but remember, the media is on their side.  They never fact check the claims from the Anti gun groups, so don't be surprised if your funny story ends up in some Anti's public address.  It doesn't matter if it's true or not, the sheeple will believe it, and it will hurt our cause in the end.

Maybe I'm underestimating them and they are not THAT stupid.  Eitherway, it's not the best idea, even if it is damn funny.

I have lost over 5 people in my family to gun violence over the last 10 years. I believe my love ones would be here today if the murderers of my loved ones didn't have such easy access to guns.

Is that anything like 6?

I would like to know how do guns get in poor communties when we don't have gun shops or factories in these communties?

Perhaps they are stolen????

I have heard so much about gun control, and have become so confused with all of the arguments. I know guns kill people, and should not be owned by some people, but then I read stories like the one below, and it also makes sense to me. I just do not know what is the right way to go, and hoped you could help me.

From Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia, 09-30-2003

GUNS IN AUSTRALIA

Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under. It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent,

Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent;

Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.

(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly.

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in "successfully ridding Australian society of guns." You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the state Assembly disseminating this information.

The Australian experience proves it. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note Americans, before it's too late!

Now by what this police officer says, it looks to me like taking the guns away from the law abiding people is more dangerous than having guns.

Please help me figure this out.

Mary

I know my won't get posted, but here it is:

Here's why I march!  My son Trevor was gunned down like a dog while sitting on a toilet by an undocumented worker who obtained a stolen handgun from an off-duty police officer.  He was a beautiful son who died at the young age of 16.  He had so much life left.  I was told by the police this murderer was here illegally and had purchased a home that was in escrow.  This madman was buying a home and killed my boy because he snuck in and tried to use the bathroom!!  The worst part is he did abscond with 22 dollars in cash he took from my boy's wallet and used it to buy booze.  The police later tried to tell me they were a homosexual couple who had a lovers quarrel!!  I just don't think they care to find the killer!
