 On the topic of the smilies and board code/editor: I run firefox and if I highlight something then pick like "Size=4", it puts {size=4}{/size=4} at the very bottom of the edit area, ignoring what I have highlighted. Same thing happens for smilies, I can be in the middle of the post and click a smilie and it puts it at the very end of the post I am typing. Is it just me? I have most Firefox extensions disabled, mostly the ones that would interfere with highlighting and anything java/javascript...  (I know just remember then and type the brackets.

It does that for me too. I'm using Safari on Mac OS 10.3. I haven't bothered trying a bunch of other browsers, though. And I'm also getting the red Xs on the icon and animation windows (but not in post or reply windows). Another strange one: Sometimes, every forum but GD, the board code doesn't get processed. All the replies in every thread, the quotes, pictures, smileys, and colors show up as bracketed code like you type in the replies, instead of being processed into what they're supposed to look like. |

Switch to Firefox. Same core "browser engine", but much faster! So the post editor must be tuned to use some special IE only thing? Do you have any plugins running on Netscape of any kind (lookup, right click enable, etc. etc.)??? |

Using both AOL 9.0 and I.E. on Windows XP, I no longer have animated figures. I still see them, but they are frozen... the dancing banana is just a banana that sits there... the rofl2 animation just shows the legs kicked out, not moving. Anybody know whats up with this?

I had the same problem. I was using ZoneAlarm for a fire wall. I turned it off and everything started working.
