Little Groups of Paratroopers

After the demise of the best Airborne plan, a most terrifying effect occurs on the battlefield. This effect is known as the rule of the LGOPs. This is, in its purest form, small groups of pissed of 19 year old American paratroopers. They are well-trained, armed to the teeth and lack serious adult supervision. They collectively remember the Commander's intent as "March to the sound of the guns and kill anyone who is not dressed like you..." or something like that.

Happily they go about the days work......

Let's hear for the LGOPS!

Yeah brother - someone asked me about it so I figured I'd let others who may be curious in on the explanation.

Having hung out on Airborne sites for so long, I tend to forget that "regular" folk don't know all of the lingo.

No offense to the regular folk comment. To me, regular means normal (in a good sense). As paratroopers are absolutley abnormal. Just ask Crowboy, 504PIR, EdAvilaSr, FREEFALLE6, etc.

They'll agree that we are an unusual sort.

And as for any other terminologies, I honestly don't know what others don't know.

I think the full thing (as printed on a poster) was something like: As we were retreating off the battlefield, being pushed back by the Germans, I came across a man in a foxhole with a serious look on his face. I told him that he had better come with us, we were looking for a safe place to regroup. He said, "well, sir, tell 'em you can set up right behind me. I'm the 82nd Airborne, and this is as far as the bastards are going."

odd thing but the game Call of Duty's US campain you play as a PFC Martin in the 101st
the last US mission is a battle of the bulg one too where you attack a bunch of bunkers

My spin on that was that he attempted o say "nichts" but the interpretation was fouled and it came out as "nuts."

The definition of "nichts" is "nothing." Meaning, "General what's your reply to the Germans?" "nichts..." "ok, NUTS, I'll pass it on."

Is that SPIN or what?
