Hello AR15.com crew

I got my first Glock today. At first I wanted one in 9mm or .45ACP but I went with .40S&W as a compromise.

I got a N.I.B G22 3rdGen with Glock night sites for $469.00

That was tax and all, what a deal. I got it from W.D Sporting Goods at the Knoxville Expo Gunshow. I can't wait for Sept 14 to get here so I can get some new standard cap mags and some of the post ban LEO mags.

So tell me if you think that was a good deal and what I should expect from my baby.

Bahhh

I don't reload or use un jackted ammo so I am safe.

But what is with the "remanufactured" ammo?

Why isn't is as good as the "manufactured" ammo?

Shouldn't quality control be equally as tight on both, QC is what catches rounds with improper Overall Lengthe (OAL). Correct?

And OAL is one of the major factors in the KA BOOM, being that it will keep the gun from being completly in battery.

I plan on shooting a lot of ammo from Georgia Arms so is that safe?

Should I measure the OAL of my rounds with my calipers before I run them in my gun?

Yeah, don't shoot reloads.  I'm surprised that my G19 hasn't blown up after 10,000 reloads through it.

Good choice!

I've shot 1000's of factory rds through my G23 w/o a hiccup or kaboom!

Stick with quality factory loaded ammo and you'll be fine.

Get ready to stock up on cheap factory hi-cap mags!

Bwahaahahahahaha! NO! QC is terrible on reman ammo. There are some original manufacturers you shouldnt shoot.
I wouldnt shoot anything out of that pistol but Winchester white box. JMHO.

Congrats.

I have carried a GLOCK 19 for over 5 years and have put over 22,000 rounds through it with ZERO malfunctions.

Ignore the naysayers. Some folks just aren't satisfied with a pistol that does everything it needs to do right out of the box.

Some people bitch because they can't shoot cheap-ass lead bullets in them. I wonder if they also complain that they can't run diesel in a Corvette?

I must have been tempting fate with my shooting of lead Cabelas reman. I'm not doing that anymore. I picked up 500 rds of UMC jacketed

I have a Glock 30.  Never had any problems.  It just doesn't like aluminum cases.  Other than that, it is my carry weapon, I trust my life with it.  BTW, other guns have KABOOMED!  Ain't nothin'wrong with "em over or under any other makes.---savage1

Don't listen to the doom-sayers; your glock is no more likely to ka-boom than any other glock .40

You do have finger insurance don't you?

Yes, you got a good deal. I have a four Glock .40 caliber pistols and I've shot over 10,000 rounds through my 22 and never hade a problem. Shot alot of factory reloads in the past and nothings happend yet. To be on the safe side you should stick with factory new ammo. Glock will void your warranty if something happens and you are using reloads. If you clean your weapon properly and keep it clean you should not have any problems. Have fun shooting your Glock.

The only times I've ever had malfunctions with my Gen I Glock 17 is when I've fired remanufactured ammo through it.  It was usually in the form of failures to eject that left the casing stove-piped.

It's definitely a good deal - whether or not people like Glock is a different question, as the posts above indicate.  I've always been satisfied that my Glock will perform as advertized - it was my first gun, and I'd never get rid of it - but I prefer the feel of a Sig and will be buying those in the future, along with a 1911 or two.

Yes you got a good deal.  Anytime you can get a gun with a reputation like Glock's for under $500 you have done well.  Nothin'  wrong with a Glock if it fits your hand and YOU like it.

Not too shabby. Less than $500 w/night sights is A-OK. I have 1000s of rounds through 2 G-22s. Not a single problem. Take the $1000 bucks you didnt spend on a fancy .45 and buy ammo.

I've had a glock 27 for 6 years now, and never had a problem, probably 10,000 rounds through it over the years and no KABOOM!.  love the .40s&w, it's a very manageble load and still has the power needed to do the job.  you bought good.

good price!  what is 'sales tax'?  LOL

got the neighbor woman down the street a Gen 3 Glock 19 that was 'used' with night sights for $425.

It was a police turn in that still had the copper slide grease break-in stuff on it.  Looked like it had been sitting in an armory somewhere.

She didn't understand why I was standing there telling here "Yes, buy it now!"  So we went all around the whole gun show and then came back and got that 19 that we saw originally.

Havent had a malfunction yet from my glock 22. I wouldnt use remanufactured ammo anyway. There is plenty of affordable stock ammo so why bother.

I've got 4 glocks (.45,.40X2,.357) and have always shot remaned ammo without a twitch.  Lots and lots of Black Hills remaned.

Glock 36,Compact 45.  My carry gun.  Shoot average of 200 rounds weekly for 4 years.  No jams, no kabooms.
Those who dis Glock are those who fear change.  They say uneducated things like, "Uhh me hates the trigger."  Get out of your cave and learn what the trigger does on a Glock.
Kimber is the Ferrari of pistols whereas Glock is the Hummer.  Form follows function.
Do your standard mods, extended slide release, NY Trigger, 3.5 disconnect, plug for grip.
It's one of the safest handguns ever created.  Some neanderthals just don't understand innovation.

Should I talk to Lil about increasing the collection? Neither one of us owns a Glock?

OK

So who makes good conversion barrels for the G22?

What calibers can I convert it too?

Who sells the "Butt Plug", Extented Slide Release, and Extended Mag Release?

And what is with the 3.5# dissconector and NY trigger?
