If you had to limit your arsenal to weapons only manufactured by one major company (i.e. Colt, FN, Winchester, etc), which would it be?
Colt, for the 1911 and AR-15? FN, for the Hipower and FNFAL? Ruger, for thier outstanding sixguns and big game rifles? You can have any models they make, but only from one manufacturer - and no answers like 'Ohio Rapid Fire', since they are a small shop making copies of many different designs. Which company would it be? |

Fabric Nationale...I hope I spelled it correctly.
I am going to assume any FN model ever produced. Some excellent pistols...BHP, P-38, 1900, 1910 Intermediate Mauser, especially the Israeli .308 Aren't they making M-16s now? FALs, so many choices, so little money FNs machine gun that replaced the M-60 I bet they have some bigger stuff, too. |

Assuming I could get whatever I want? HK. And that's saying alot because generally speaking I am a non-fan. But, within the confines of this thread, going with HK would allow me to replace my AR, my FAL, my Glock 19, and my 1911. Albeit they would all require trading down for more money, but you limited me to one manufacturer.
Although, I could probably make do with Sig in a pinch. Do they do a .308? |
|
Colt - M4, Gold Cup 1911, Python .357............I dont "need" more than that.
I want a lot more, but I can get by with those 3 |
|
You'd be OK with no handguns? I love my SA58, and I'm betting they make a nice AR, but it's kinda hard to shoot IDPA with one or carry either one of them concealed. |

Sig or HK, maybe in a pinch Beretta because they have a Cowboy single action now. If you made it American only, it would have to be Ruger. They are the only American company that covers everthing, semi-auto pistols and rifles, DA and SA revolvers. bolt guns and shotguns, though with shotguns they are double barrel only.

DSA is that good. I know they don't have pistols, and I'm Ok with it. Besides, a Para Model FAL is very compact. |

I just couldn't ever give up CCW and IDPA. I love shooting rifles and all, but for me self defense first and IDPA second are what I own guns for. |

Wilson, I guess.
Who else (besides Colt) makes AR-15's and 1911's? |
|
Rock River Arms does. |
|
|
I would have to say Springfield Armory .gov
M1 Garand M1903 M1911 M14 Eddited for clarification. |
|
Springfield Amory!!!! |
|
|
ditto, except I'd say for the M1A scout and custom compact 1911. They also have the .22lr /.410 shotgun combo rifles. I don't know of any HK .22's. -LG |

Bad as I hate to say it, Colt.
Ar's 1911's Pythons A few nice hunting rifles in the past That would leave me without a shotgun, though. Alternately, I could say browning; this would allow me to have a few nice hunting guns, plus some hi-powers. I guess I'll just stick with multiple manufacturers. |

The Top choices will have to be:
HK FN SIG Colt Springfield Why? Because they're the only manufacturers where you can get EVERYTHING you might need. I would have to lean toward FN and HK since you can actually get a shotgun from them as well. Springfield... you're pretty much stuck with the M1A for all roles: CQB, Medium range, long range. Colt... They have no decent long range set-up unless you just modify an AR SIG... They have the 55x series, excellent pistols, outstanding sniper rifles HK... Good selection of pistols, Good selection of subguns, good selection of rifles, good selection of shotguns FN... Good selection of black rifles (as long as you are .gov), good selection of precision rifles, Decent selecion of handguns, good selection of shotguns. Overall, I'm gonna have to go with HK. EDIT: I forgot about Beretta. Small selection of rifles, a decent subgun, good shotguns, and good selection of handguns. So they are a possibility. |

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories
For non-nuclear ordinance, +1 for Springfield Armory. |
|
Um I was talking about Springfield Armory in Springfield Mass. |

Yeah, I didn't catch that. My bad. I still stick by my choice though.
