Survival Kit contents check. In them you will find: one 45 caliber automatic, two boxes of ammunition, four days concentrated emergency rations, one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills, one miniature combination Rooshan phrase book and Bible, one hundred dollars in rubles, one hundred dollars in gold, nine packs of chewing gum, one issue of prophylactics, three lipsticks, three pair of nylon stockings -- shoot, a fellah could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff....

Hey, I just bought the DVD of "Dr Strangelove" ($14.95 at Wallyworld) a couple of weeks ago and the extra-features on it are worth the cost alone.

The making of DSL section runs like 45 min's long and and has all sorts of interesting info in it.  When they built the mock-up of Major Kong's B-52 the Airforce wouldn't help with the interior so they used every un-classified source they could find.  When a couple of AF officers asked to see the mock-up during filming they threw a shit-fit over how accurate they'de gotten it lol

Another thing I learned watching the "making of DSL" was that Peter Sellers was originally cast as Maj' Kong too (Four roles in the movie).  He fell out of the mock-up while it was suspended 15ft in the air and broke his leg so they flew Slim Pickens in from the US at the last minute.....good choice

Weird, I've got Escape from New York on here.  Not that I'm complaing though, Snake is pretty cool.  He's no Slim Pickens, mind you.

That's on AMC here, Dr.Strangelove is on TMC.

"Well I first became aware of it during the physical act of love, a profound sense of emptiness and fatigue followed. Luckily, I was able to interpret these feelings correctly. Loss of essence. I can assure you Mandrake it has not happened since. Women sense my power and they seek the life essence. I do not avoid women Mandrake, but I do deny them my essence."

Watch Slims lips when he says "Vegas".  The movie's original release date was 11-22-63

Pickens actually says DALLAS but they held the release for 3 weeks and went back and dubbed Vegas in instead.
