This past summer I hit a couple of big gun-shows and I saw what was claimed to be a Trijicon ACOG Sight. They were priced at $100 and $149 a piece and were "new in box." I skipped on them because my good buddy said they were cheap China clones but they looked the same and if I remember well, they actually had the Trijicon name on them.

Is there any way I can verify they are fakes? Do they have serial numbers or made-on dates? I really would like to know since I would hate to blow money on a crappy fake.

but what he finds a fake priced at $900?  

look at the fit and finish on them.  
is the sight clear.  
does the element glow?
can you press on the glass and make it move.
educate yourself by going to reputable gun stores and looking at the real ones.

with a little practice you can see the difference.  

ed to add is it heavy?
Like the line from Jurassic park.  If it’s heavy, its real.  

Also I doubt that these knock offs (even the more expensive ones) would have the tritium.
