Authorities check suitcase for bomb after arresting man in Vegas

LAS VEGAS A man has been arrested after claiming he had a bomb, but authorities have shut down a street just off the Las Vegas Strip while they check his suitcase.

Sahara Avenue is closed from Las Vegas Boulevard to Interstate 15 -- and some businesses are being evacuated as a precaution.

The man has blood on his pants -- and left the suitcase behind at a gas station less than a block west of the Strip.

Now, the bomb squad's checking it out.

One report says the suitcast popped open and revealed clothing while the man walked from a steakhouse to the gas station a little after 11-30 A-M.
