I was trolling pawnshops during my lunch hour a few days ago.. and I saw a .380 Bersa for 169.99 ...

now I know for that price it surely ISNT a GREAT gun but.. I cant stop thinking about it...  come on ...its only 169.99!!!

any experiance with this gun is it a good buy or should I just go forget about it...

like I said.. I cant get it out of my mind.... I didnt even hold it. I just thaught .. wow what can you expect for the money.. but I cant stop thinking about it.

IO did a search in the handgun side here but only got one match..

I wanna go buy it tommorw .

so some one talk me out ..

It's a good one.  Sometimes you DO get something that is worth more than the price tag on it.  I had one and sold it to a buddy.  Very accurate and reliable.   Simply put, it is MUCHO bang for the buck.

Good ponts for Bersas are:
They work reliably.
They shot reasonably straight.
They don't cost much.

Bad point:
They are ugly.

Get it.  You will like it.

My brother bought one for his wife, think he's put maybe one box thru it so far, said it was ok, that's all I know about them, but would get one myself if I found a good deal.

My wife has one.  The gun is terrific.  Reliable, accurate, decent trigger even though it is DA/SA

I don't really like the Bersa's. I would get a Makarov, they are about the same dimensions and cost a bit less. You can get cheap surplus ammo to practice in 9X18 and Cor Bon makes a defensive load for the 9X18 too.

Another vote for the Bersa. And $169.99 is a good price-a buddy of mine paid $180 at a funshow here 2 years ago.

Good weapon and shoots good and reliably. Unique design in that the barrel is mounted to the frame, the idea making it more accurate than a 1911 type design where the barrel moves.

I'd say go for it.

$170 is retail so dont go for it unless its unfired.  They are great little guns.  Basically its a PPK.  I wouldnt get it if its parked since the gun store I go to said that they rust right in the display case.  A friend has one and we frequently have 50 yard paper plate matches to see who can get the most shots on the plate.  So far we're tied at 1.

Go for it.

I thought they were similar to the Walther PPK/S but without the material and crafting. I believe it had the solid mounted barrel also???

For that price it would be inexpensive to try one.

I'm a hardcore Makarov addict - and I still think Bersa's are often underated in terms of ergos and reliability.

I've had mine over a year.  At least 1000 rounds through it with not one failure.  The sights are on the small side but work fine.  Buy it.

Here is my Firestorm, made by Bersa, with a nickel plated slide. It is simply a Bersa Thunder .380 chambered for the .22LR.  The finger groves are great and would be a good add-on for the .380.

It is one of my favorate pistols.
