Just heard on CNN Headline news from a muslim activist that very thing, and that western civilization is a "poison."  That islam will encompass the whole of the world and that they are a sleeping giant.

I was astounded at this and had no idea that anyone would think freedom, which I really think he meant to say "liberty," was a sickness.

I think  I was just awakened, to the reality in the not to distant future.

any chance you caught their name?

You've got a LOT of catching up to do.

Check the websites IMRA and MEMRI - they have direct translations and excerpts from state-run arabic media, and their leading representatives, showing the anti-West hate they spew 24/7. More telling, you can read translations of their Hate while their Professional Apologists, or they themselves in English say something EXACTLY the opposite.

Got to understand this is just another war against totalitarianism, just like the ones we fought in the 20th century.  It's a constant, unending struggle.

What raven said.

The Communists were the "focus of evil" in the world for decades.  With the Cold War over a new player has taken the stage and the struggle continues.

This world is composed of people that want freedom and those that wish to enslave and control.  It's a story as old as time and while the players and tactics may change, the game never does.

There are MANY people out there today that don't remember the Soviet Union, who don't remember going to bed and wondering if they would die in the middle of the night in a nuclear attack.  They think that just because we've had a few years of "peace" that it's always been like this.  Let me assure them that it HAS NOT BEEN.  Those few years were just a breather between events.

I am convinced that in order for America to survive, George W Bush MUST win this election! John Kerry does not have the conviction or character to prosecute this war against radical Islam in the way that it MUST be prosecuted! John Kerry would weaken our defenses at home, and end our offensives against the terrorists overseas. John Kerry would whine about civil rights and health care while Al Queda bombs our airliners, embassies, casinos or whatever.

High tech forces alone are not enough to destroy this enemy. We MUST show unwavering resolve in the complete and total destruction of radical Islam, because they have shown unwavering resolve in our destruction. John Kerry does not posess the determination or the will to kill our enemies.

Am I the only one who remembers members of the Bush administration saying essentially the same thing, and the FBI pamphlet out of the AZ office equating those who love freedom being as equal a threat as terrorists?

Seems to me that you folks are directing your attention to an alleged distant enemy while the one here at home--in the form of an administration who considers freedom lovers, those who believe in the Constitution and those who believe in God as domestic terrorists--is just as if not more dangerous.
