Best movie ever.  I wish I was watching it now.

I love that movie. But I know its not for everyone. But if you grew up on Sunday afternoon Kung-Fu theater on TV, samurai movies, and spaghetti westerns, I don't know how you can't like it.

In particular
1.The scenes with Sonny Chiba - "Q: Who is this man? A: Hatori Hanzo."
2. When she is in the ward and wakes up - Listen to her heart monitor.
3. When Oren's assistant get her armed chopped off. Oren Ishii we have unfinished business.

"Those of you lucky enough to still have your lives take them with you! But leave your limbs, they belong to me now."

"That really was a Hatori Hanzo sword."

Can you tell I like this movie?
I will say that Part 2 was a bit of a dissapointment to me.

I used to think v.2 was a disapointment, but I think it will grow on me.  Especially considering it is really supposed to be just one movie.  I really enjoy David Carridine's role, it caused me to watch Kung Fu, and I liked it alot.  But it is cheezy how he is a white dude and people think he is chinese.

Vol. 1 was great.  I was really disappointed with Vol. 2 especially the soundtrack.

I put off watching it for a long time. I broke down about a month ago and rented it. Not bad. Worth renting.

I hope it grows on me too. I admit I was a bit distracted with the bitch sitting in front of me who brought her months old baby that kept crying. Why would you bring a baby to a movie, especially an R-rated one, and even more especially one that has a good chance of being hyper-violent? I wanted to hack her arm off with a samurai sword.
And I missed some of the movie since the full size coke mixed with a healthy dose of whisky forced the need for a few trips to the head!

I really liked Kill Bill. Rented it a couple of months ago.

Haven't seen #2 yet. But I will when it comes out.

I don't think I've seen a Tarintino movie I haven't liked. He has fresh ideas about directing, lighting, action, etc.

I almost retched during that whole "wiggle your big toe" scene. Blech.

KB1 is pretty good.  KB2 is the last 1/2 hour of KB1, plus a couple hours of out takes that should have been left on the cutting room floor.   Padding it out to make two movies was a very bad idea.

Easily one of the stupidest movies I've ever seen, and that's saying something.  I don't think I'll waste the money to rent vol 2 of this waste of film.

Seriously, what were they thinking?  It had no realism, it had no humor, it had no really interesting plot...

Just over the top inane violence...  It has gone into the same category with movies where the actor on the cover has a pistol up by his face:  "Cheesy and low budget, don't bother... but I'm sure 18 year olds will enjoy it"

Some say Tarantino was copying those old movies, I prefer to think he was paying homage and improving the old movies.

Some of those old movies were very uneven and didn't have enough money to tell their story properly.

I liked it, but not like Pulp Fiction. I guess it's just more obvious as time goes by that Tarantino makes movies by paying homage/copying other movies. Don't get me wrong, I did like it, but I thought through most of it "Gee this is a cool copy of a early 70s US action film mixed with a 70s Kung Fu movie." Fun to watch but I never really cared about the characters and although the fights were well choreographed when the Bride killed an enemy I never thought "Yeah take that!"

I do plan on watching 2 this week since it's out on rental now.

Kill Bill was supposed to have strong influences from kung fu movies.  Uma was wearing nearly the same jumpsuit that Lee wore in one of his films, though I cant remeber which one.  I still think that Kill Bill is plenty original.

yeah makes ya wonder if Tarintino has a foot fetish. considering that scence and the one in pulp fiction revolving around a "foot massage" yeah im pretty sure he does.

anyway I liked Vol 1. vol 2 wasnt nearly as good IMHO.

I just saw Vol.2..I thought it was better than Vol.1.....

I guess I am the only one... What was awesome about 2 was the trailer scene with Darryl Hanna and the cemetary scene...(No spoilers)

The cemetary scene is going to give me nightmares..That is one of my worst fears!!!!

Good movie to watch with friends and a few 6 packs.... Uma is a hottie too!

I finally saw it the other night. The previously viewed VHS was on sale for $5 so I figured "what the hey".

I give it 2 1/2 stars. Better than mediocre, not outstanding.
