Aside from Pappy and Diet Coke, what’s your favorite alcoholic beverage? Name it, don’t just say “bourbon” or “beer.”
I love a good Sazerac, Old Fashioned, or Manhattan, but I’m a bourbon neat gentleman. I’ve had Old Rip Van Winkle, Pappy, Blade and Bow 22, Old Forester Birthday Bourbon and President’s Choice, but I found a small craft distillery next to the Kentucky Speedway that puts out fantastic bourbon. Neeley Family Distillery sells some absolutely lights out single barrel bourbon, they don’t sell it any other way. And no, I’m not affiliated nor will I receive any kickback. Link Teetotalers, this isn’t the thread for you. |

I don't have a favorite - I do drink several all equally though.
Homebrewed beer probably tops the list, then bourbon, and gin. |
|
The Cazadores Paloma is the best drink that can be purchased in a can.
|
|
|
I really like girly fruited sour beers, Berliner weisses, gose etc
|
|
Summer? Classic 3-1 martini (3 gin-1vermouth), winter? Laphroaig 10 single malt scotch with a few drops of water.
|
|
Cocktail or liquor?
Pina Coladas are my favorite mixed drink if done well. For whisky I like Islay single malts. |
|
Margaritas, probably.
Palomas Daiquiris (classic, not the fruit slushie type) Gimlets Whiskey sours White Russians Red snappers Negronis Yeah, I can’t pick just one. |

If I could have only three alcoholic beverages for the rest of my life, they’d be George Dickel 8, Ezra Brooks 90, and Wild Turkey 101.
I’ve got a bottle of the discontinued Shellback Spiced Rum set aside for when I decide to get The Snip, and another set aside for when Hillary finally takes a dirtnap. THAT is probably my favorite single alcohol ever made. |

I love IPAs, pretty much all of them, the more hops the better but I don't like the super high alcohol versions. I'm drinking Woodford reserve right now, it's one of my favorite whiskeys.

The Classic Laddie for scotch.
Four Roses small batch for bourbon. If I had to pick I guess. |
|
Heitz Martha’s Vineyard Red wine, enjoy while cooking at home then finish bottle over dinner with a nice woman.
Mezcal, no ice. Mezcal stored in freezer Black Russian with Goose no ice. The Kahlua and Grey Goose stored in freezer. |

Beyond quality Whisky:
Old fashion Manhattan Gin & Tonic(on a hot summer day, the best!) Dark n Stormy And other cocktails made by local quality bartenders |
|
Beer: Yuengling
Red wine: Caymus cabernet savignon Hard stuff: vodka, Stoli, usually, Chopin & Belvedere when I want to be snooty, as a dirty vodka Martini. ETA: my wife is my favorite mixologist (when she isn’t using my Shun knives as screwdrivers) & her Daiquiris follow the basic lime, simple syrup & rum—awesome on a hot day! I forget the posh rum brand, but it isn’t Bacardi. |
|
Given a choice, I’ll have a Jack Daniels, straight & neat. MAYBE with a splash of water (not a flood) maybe not. That’s my Winter drink.
In hot weather, I enjoy Appleton Estate Signature Jamaican Rum served straight with one or two ice cubes (no more). Seriously, I don’t like “mixers”. Water in My Whiskey |
|
#1. Beer ambers/marzen/Oktoberfest. My go too is Killians red
#2. Liquors At home only bloody marys At bars/restaurants Screwdrivers. I found Screwdrivers from dive bars to expensive restaurants acceptable, they are very hard to fuck up. Occasionally at Italian restaurants, I will go with Harvey Wallbangers if they have Galiano. |

Ferrari Carano Cabernet Sauvignon.
Powerful, peppery and long lasting. Try it with a blackened New York Strip steak. Fantastic. Anyone that says they don't like wine just hasn't found the one they like yet...there's literally thousands to try. |
|
Rum: this neat or on the rocks. https://njoyspirits.com/1-best-florida-mermaid-rum-overproof-rum/
Vodka: see above. https://westernsondistillery.com/original Wine: a good tawny port or this, https://store.lakeridgewinery.com/southern-white.html Beer, a good porter or bock. |

My preference is Tequila aged to either a Reposado or an Anejo. Be sure its decent tequila that's 100% Blue Agave and not the cheap stuff. There are many good tequilas with my preferred brands being (not in order of preference) either Don Juan, Cancion (formerly Roger Clyne's Mexican Moonshine) or even Hornitos Black Barrel.
For sipping I like it cold out of the freezer or at least very cold on ice and straight. I also like it with a mixer such as ginger ale or ginger beer. Either way serve it with a slice of fresh lime. |

Monica Y’all heathens should learn about Zacapa. |

A margarita done right but since it’s never done right in Missouri I drink Beam and Coke???????
