TSA website says we can take it, I am taking six glass mason jars of store bought moonshine to my daughter.

All jars are 50 proof flavored moonshine.

Website said it goes in check on bags, do I need to see the TSA etc before checking in my bag?

All jars will be bagged, padded in a hard case as per guidelines.

Reason I ask is we will be at the airport three hours early and wondering if we need to arrive earlier.

Thanks

I dont think itll be an issue. Really need to check with German customs to be sure but almost everywhere is fine with a few bottles

That’s not shine. 50 proof? Why waste your time? Buy a bottle of Malibu and be done with it.

Professionally made moonshine is the biggest crime against alcohol since prohibition.

Why is your daughter in Germany?  If she is military, she can buy real shine, not that 50 proof stuff, at the Class VI store.

She bought it in Gatlinburg last trip home.

She just asked us to bring it, makes no sense but she asked me to bring them.

She is military so if she wants it I will bring it.

We are not taking a check bag(other than the booze), so it isn't a issue.

Why not bring a couple jars of uncut shine and cut it when you get there?

Based on my experience putting mason jars in luggage, TSA WILL inspect your luggage.
Just so you know

Because it's flammable and you'd likely end up in jail.

I wouldn't even bother and tell her to go to Class VI or any Wein Keller to get moonshine. Most farms that sell schnapps will hook her up too.

I'd be more concerned about German customs than tsa but it'll probably be fine. I've taken wine to and from Europe in checked luggage

I send 140 proof back with expats all the time without issue.  I've never tried more than a quart or 2 though.

Real deal moonshine is the nastiest, foulest, stankest stuff you will come across. You can tell it doesn’t belong in your body.

But this stuff is the closest you’ll legally buy to it. Even the strong smell. The real stuff filled the room when I took the lid off.

The head distiller even got arrested recently for selling the homemade stuff

That depends on who makes it. I have had some from a family member that is better than any vodka ever made. Depends on how tight you make your cuts. Too much heads or tails and you get the nasty. Take just the middle of the body and dont mind wasting a little its gonna be nice
