See the tiny wood barrel beside the big barrel?  It was a movie prop from the movie about the Hunley.  Well, obviously titled The Hunley with Donald Sutherland from 1999.

The aircraft in the right is a T-46 NGT (Next Generation Trainer), developed in the 80’s as a replacement for the T-37.
My Dad was involved from day 1 on development, procurement, and ultimately testing.
Three were bought and at least two flew. I was there for first flight, and it’s a cool little aircraft.
Gramm-Rudland (fuck be upon them) killed the program, and Fairchild.

One of the vertical stabilizers was broken in a move. I have it, but need to find someone to fix it.

The aircraft on the left is a T-6, which my father was involved with after retiring. Since they’re current production, someone might have one of those. But I’m guessing no one has the T-46.

My Grandfather's ww2 patch. He was in the 271st Field Artillery Battalion. He flew L4 Stenson's as a forward observer from what I can gather. He never spoke about it, but had war take home from Europe and Japan.

Gold plated Stirling engine?  Dad came across it somewhere and decided the few hundred bucks he spent was worth it.  He was a frugal man but would occasionally splurge.

This is so cool. That patch was likely from a Piper L-4 (grasshopper) though. Stinson had the L-1 and L-5.

I’m a bit of a Stinson nerd.

Have several unique items in the collection but this one stands out.  It's a Vietnam bring back, Amnesty registered Colt 601 rifle.  It came with a photo of it being shot on the range in Vietnam in 1965 and another image of a VC insurgent shot with it.

Combined "book" airspeed indicator, Mach meter, and G meter, pulled from the instrument panel of a Republic F-105 Thunderchief.

Instrument made by Bendix in 1966.

As it appeared in the cockpit.

A very bad and out of focus pic of the space shuttle patch that fell on my grandmothers property in 2003. Obviously bulk patches that were too be handed out as "mission flown". Still have the original pic. She was 80+. I was out of state at the time. Found stuff for yearrs and sent them to NASA. Last being a rivet on top of a fence post in 2008ish and they said stopped sending it.

I've posted this before, but as far as I can tell this is a one off/unique pistol.

Kinda like a Sharps pepperbox, but the action swings upwards for reloading, instead of sliding forward. 4 barrels, each one rifled, 32 rimfire.

If you don't keep AF backshops busy, they get bored. Pin-on gift...chief's stripe and profile cut from 1/2" aircraft billet aluminum.

Won't be much longer before someone says "chief" is cultural appropriation, or worse... Tribes say they take pride in it, but that won't matter.
