I think they vast majority of the concern is the "face" of ARFCOM on YT. People who search AR15 on YT will no doubt bounce on the videos. I suspect that most people would rather have a John Lovell or Colion Noir type as the face for ARFCOM on SM than BlueFalcon. Andrew does good gel test videos but the politically charged presentations come across like infowars light. I have never had an issue with BF at all but can see that a different front in the YT videos could be beneficial. We love GD and all the dysfunction that comes with it but I honestly was here for about 4 years before I stumbled on the gem that GD is for entertainment. AR15s draw in new users, GD keeps many of the older users around. YT is an avenue for people to find the site and we should want them to come for the AR and stumble into the fun of GD. Y'all run the business as you see fit, you will continue to get my money each year as long as nothing changes drastically but think of mainstream SM as an advertising venue for the site and not much more. We get plenty of news directly from the other users here and the newsletters are for the most part just recaps of threads that many of us have already posted in or even started ourselves. |

Honestly it's appearance. Professionals do hair, makeup, and a wardrobe that doesn't make them look sloppy or unkempt. GarandThumb, Colion Noir, and even Ian McCollum pay attention to lighting and wardrobe. Beyond the obvious unhealthy BMI you can dress him up a little bit. People that come across as unprofessional come across as uncreditable.
Eta: As a fellow gentleman of size the best advice I can give would be to wear a correctly fitting polo or Columbia PFG type shirt with the arfcom logo instead of random poorly fitting t shirts. |

Honestly, it’s just the professionalism during interviews with manufacturers that turned me off.
I think the straw that finally broke me was the IWI video during the PSA thing a year or two ago. The IWI team was all set to be on their game, professional, serious and the ARF team came across as pretty childish. The video is still up, you can pretty much see “this is the last time we’ll talk with them” written all over the IWI guys.  I don’t mind silly YouTube garbage, I watch plenty of it, but it’s a huge case of “there’s a time and place for everything - and this is neither the time nor the place.” Based on the Shot 2022 feedback it hasn’t been fixed yet either. |

Arguing that "there is a market of people who like him" while every single response in this thread is about how folks don't and won't engage with the material solely because of the presenter is a losing argument.
You might get some clicks. But that doesn't show you the entirety of the market of clicks you're missing out on because people simply don't want to watch some dude bumblefuck his way through a terrible presentation while presenting cringeface reddit bullshit as the pitchframe. You want good gun channels? Go watch TFB or GarandThumb and take notes. Hell, watch 9HoleReviews and see what excellent content presented professionally can do. You could put damn near anyone else up instead of the current guy and instantly improve even without changing anything about the content, production, or anything else that costs money. |

During interviews Andrew is talking over the reps, screwing with products they're not talking about, and making meme tier jokes that fall flat. I've never seen a series of product interviews that made reps look so obviously uncomfortable than arfcom's shot show 22 vids. Like others have said, it just reflects the overall cringy nature of the channel. There are a ton of gun tuber channels that do news, product reviews, shooting, and everything else that we can learn from. They're informative, sometimes self effacing, and they get a lot of views. Arfcom could tap in to the legit SME's we have here in the industry, ex military, and media and blow those channels out of the water. Instead, Arfcom's channel is the worst of GD visualized, and its reflected in its viewership. Agreed. As a video director/producer, those were cringeworthy. Not good. Professional opinions don't matter. The personal/business decisions have been made and are not going to change. If that is the case then lock the thread. |

The face of a product is not necessarily a "face" but a the product image. When a buyer (Users here) think of the site, what image do they want portrayed in their heads? That is a mashup of their experiences and the actual images. Churches use this term often, it is the entire mashup of the Sunday service. The people on the stage give you a feel for the church as a whole (not a believer but lived the life in the past). In this case BF is GD at it's finest and like I stated, he is what people first see if they search ARFCOM and AR15 on YT. He is the greeter at the door of the church. If Alex Jones is who greets you, that may turn you away in a hurry. As a greeter you want an inviting image that is not controversial at all. Let the controversy of GD be found after they get sucked in. I look forward to seeing what you do with the site. I have been many changes here and don't freak out at change. I do feel all change should be to better a product, not just to change for the sake of change. We see that everywhere in our lives. These days, very few cell phone changes are made to produce a better product. OS X hasn't changed the feel of the product in years. Updates are subtle for a reason. The best update you did for us in these tumultuous time is the one time name change option. Thank You. |

I wasn't aware we even had this stuff so my uninformed opinion is that I wouldn't look at that type of stuff anyway. What was that interview thing we had where a member was interviewed. (XCMonger) I always thought if someone was willing to give up some of their privacy, there are members here who have interesting stories. We know some have written books so there must be more. Faces of ARFCOM or if daring, Faces of GD in the largest gun related site in the world brought to you by (industry partner) now here is our host, Ann Margaret. (Paige Spiranac)

GB, it's your place to run, but Jesus, you can't be that hard headed to not hear this same exact feedback on this subject, time, after time, after time again?
The guy doesn't take his job seriously one bit, and I'll be honest, I won't ever watch, recommend, or even pretend to like a single one of his videos as long as he is your spokesperson for your videos. It puts a fat, larping, annoying, and "just get away from me" face to our entire community. |

Hire actual video and marketing people. Two channels I follow on YT are LTT and DDE.
Linus is not a video guy but one of his first hires was a video guy and an editor. Damon was marketing guy but has an editor and a video guy. Some gun guy with an iPhone filming guys with pot bellies and asking stupid questions is boring nowhere close to the content that could be made. |
