I saw that the other day and thought, that lizard could easily eat a full size man. I wonder if that has ever happened? Probably yes.

There are videos out there where they eat a deer alive a bit at a time while the deer screams. Scary shit.

I think those things ambush their prey, deliver a toxic infectious bite and then just follow the prey from a distance until it succumbs to the infections.

Where do you think lizard people come from? That one looks like it would have a person for dessert though, not fun time.

yes

I watched a program years ago about it, there's some island in the Pacific overrun with these things... they nick a deer's ankle and just follow him for a week while he gimps around the bush and finally can't go on with a rotten leg..

you get a group of those lizard things around a carcass or a live one and they all try and swallow it whole like in the video and rip the thing to pieces in a frenzy..

I have to agree. I have see various wildlife shows and I never saw one swallow such a large animal. They would tear off chunks like crocs do with larger prey.

Your correct. I actually went and looked it up after I just posted and came back to edit my post.

I seemed to remember watching a video of Komodo dragons killing and eating a water buffalo and they tore it apart like lions would.

My parents live in the neighborhood that borders that park on the north side. They love seeing the deer roam through their yard.

Saw a vid months ago where a monkey got caught, fought for a few minutes, other lizards join and rip its head off.

Not a guillotine head rip, more like 3-4 seconds. You would feel your blood vessels, veins, arteries start to rip for a brief moment..

Not a good way to go.

Why?  It seems a little sped up to me, but I thought it was basically an island of huge lizards and tiny deer.

If it is small enough they will swallow it whole. That was a tiny deer. Either a fawn or some small species. Probably less than 30 pounds.
