She was told two years ago that she made it to Hollywood, but missed the age deadline by a month. Now, the age restriction is lifted, so she has another shot.
We'll see. Her site: www.bluemarbleproductions.com She hates the songs on there because she had a cold and sang a little flat... Oh, and it hasn't been updated in a couple of years, so the engagements are all old. |
Becaue she is not getting any younger and there is no other way for her to get into the industry. We have tried everything else. |
That whole industry is tourture. Originally I thought this was a bad idea...but she needs to follow her dreams. Sgtar15 |

My wife is very cool. That being said, we both have some misgivings about going this route. However, I want her to at least have a shot at it. What's worse--to look back in your life and say "Gee, I wish I hadn't sung that stupid pop song on American Idol!" or "Gee, I wish I would have just tried."? I don't know. |

I just heard that some of the contestants on this show were totally crushed after the beating that they got. I'm not saying this is the case for your wife, but this industry is mercilous...Really, good luck to her. I hope she makes it.

The second one. Just like my little box business. I have no formal training and have never done anything like this before. Will it fail? Maybe...but I at least I am tring. Good luck to her, if nothing else it WILL give her exposure and get her used to crowds. SGtar15 |

Well, I think it would be worth a shot. Several of the people on that show who didn't even win have been given contracts. So the exposure alone would be worth it. The people who perform on AI become household names in this reality tv society we are living in. So I say make an attempt to cash in on it! Good luck to her.
Oh, and be sure to have her tell that arrogant ass Simon fella to kiss her ass if he tries to shoot her down! Keep us updated. If she gets on, I'll actually watch the show and have someone to pull for. |
I like her song, "tempting....", very nice!!!
Personally, I think your wife is far too classy to appeal to the morons on American Idol. Just my opinion. You should update the live performance calendar portion on your website too. |

Thanks, everyone.
Actually, I had a guaranteed spot at the LA auditions, not Hollywood. But, whatever. Either way, AI is pretty much against every fiber of my musical being. The cheesy product-placement commercials, the melisma, etc. I like to be playing an instrument and attempting to sing my own songs. I would be more likely to try to go the indie route, but what are my chances then? My biggest concern is that if I go on there and do well, no serious musicians will take me seriously. I might not take me seriously! But, it is a great opportunity to get yourself out there for the world to see. Of course, it's a double-eged sword, because if they hate you, then is your possibility at a career screwed? I don't really consider myself the AI type, but can I make it in a situation like that, despite my misgivings? I don't know. Guess we'll see! Again, thanks for the support. http://www.hunt101.com/img/128000.JPG |

And you are WAY to pretty to be married to Mr SLash-5.
ANd you need a bigger ring. SGtar15 |
What about Star Search? Although its hosted by that square headed flunky, isn't this where Alanis Morissette started and got a break from? None of the "idols" that rolled out of AI were any good in my opinion. Except maybe that last one, if she plays her cards right.
Tell her good luck and if she makes it, give that assclown Simon a hellacious kick in whatever balls he has left.
That isn't her wedding ring dude. |
That's the RIGHT hand, there Sherlock! |

The photo's are unavailable.
It says the page is cannot be found. Maybe Hunt101 is down? BigDozer66 |

My wife and I just listened to the songs. We'll be rootin' for Pauline!
Thanks!
(BTW, her real last name is not "James", she had a stalker...so we used my middle name as a stage name.) |
Our last name does start with a "J" though, so you'll know who it is.
Well aware of that. But a pretty girl like that STILL needs a better ring. Sgtar15 |
WTF??? Who are you to judge her ring?? I mean, it looks fine to me and I'm sure she likes it just fine, that is why she has it on. Dude, you have some jealousy issues here I think. |
you should put her stuff on all the p2p networks
just get it out there so people can hear it btw i like it sounds great to me my kind of jam alittle like jewel |
... I've seen her around town somewhere. Do you two ever go to any AZARFCOM gatherings? |
DUde...you really need to learn how to relax okay... Damn. SGtar15 |
She has been to a couple FALFILES shoots, she also shoots IDPA once in a while... She also sings every weekend at Central Christian Church in Mesa. (the big one w/ about 12K attendees, not the little one). She sang at the huge 4th of july fireworks show...40K people there, you might have seen it. Or...several cofee shops in town, or stealing the "purse" at karaoke...etc. |
No words or logos allowed...but she can give a shout out to "arf"...
I think they are only interested in mindless R&B singers who have "the look."
You think Justin Guarine has the "look"??? |
Kelly Clarkston? What look is that? Chubby? |

The major problem with the AI route is that you essentially sign away all rights to your career to them for several years. By the time Kelly Clarkson is her own person again, she will be another forgotten Spice Girl. Already, her star is starting to wane. The producers of AI will make $.98 of every dollar she brings in, and tell her what to sing, what projects to do, what endorsements to make, and so on. She gets a small (by record industry standards) amount of money and some fame out of the deal, but that's about it.
AI is a tough, tough way to go. The traditional routes of touring (getting face time in front of a LOT of different people constantly) and making a LOT of connections (which are the single most important factor) are still how nearly all successful performers "made it." That method is much less fast and easy with regard to the amount of time, money, and effort put into it, but it is also the only one that will give you the ability to retain some control of your image, your projects, and to a large degree, your life. An artist's life is not an easy one, to be sure, but in many ways, going the AI route is truely selling your soul to the devil... -Troy |
You make some very valid points.
We have tried building a fan base, etc. All we got were stalkers. Seriously. |
I haven't had a TV for a few years. Is American Idol like Ted Mack's Amateur Hour?
More like the Gong SHow for singers... SGtar15 |
good luck, id suggest sending demos to record labels etc. Most people that I've seen on American Idol seem to be people with nothing recorded, just people who think they can sing in the shower
