A few of us here at AR15 play "America's Army" on a pretty regular basis. We would like to extend an invitation to anyone on the board who plays to join our "AR15 Clan" and play online with us.

We are working on getting a dedicated server for us all to play on. Come join us!

What are the dedicated server requirements for AA, hardware-wise?

Well to be an official server, it needs to be hosted with a host that the Army partners with. If we don't want a official server, anyone can host the game. As far as hardware requirements, I can't find a specified list. A decent system with good amount of ram would be needed.

I would add that a fast internet connection is a must-have for the server, as it must be able to handle info from multiple players at the same time.

Guns and computers go together nicely.. specially when you are shooting at a hard drive from 100 yrds away... or putting slugs through computer cases :) Got photos galore of us doing that ;)

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks computers make great "reactive" targets.  I always like to see the first shot through the monitor screen.

I'd try this one... and if that doesn't work well, consider using a Torrent downloader... it will pull from many sources at once.

started downloading says 35 mins.
but what is a Torrent downloader?incase i have problems or time starts to increase.

Torrent is a file type that pulls from a peer to peer sharing network. I'll see if I can find you a link to one. I used it and got the file in 10 mins.

Try this...

Go here www.shareaza.com. Download that progarm.

Then... go here... www.filerush.com/download.php?target=AmericasArmy210_Download.exe and select "Bit Torrent" as your download type.

12 gauge slug though old hard drive.

What is left of a monitor we took out there. My buddy is holding it to show his "kill"

Friends watching the playback on my camera after I hit a tanerite filled bottle on top of a printer... not much of the printer was left.

Shooting my 30-06 through some hard drives... this was the first try. Later we got it to go through 5 hard drives, basically exploding the last drive.

Practicing for when robots attack?

More for when RoboCop comes... I'd like to be able to take off his leg with two well placed slug shots.

Side note: When I worked at a large retailer in their service dept, we had customers who asked us what we did with old computers... I think they were looking for "upgrade them" or "sell them"... but we always said "shoot them". Quite a few customers liked that idea, and actually gave us all their old hardware, computers, printers, monitors, etc to go shoot up. One guy asked if we could take a before and after shot for him, which we did. He found it so hilarious.

No you can't use a joystick for this game. Trust me, you wouldn't want to even if you could. Key control? Don't know exactly what you mean by that.. but there is a program that will help you map any key on your keyboard to a command within AA... it is here.

Oh man that was so fun tonight.. we had 4 of us playing together, and all of us on TeamSpeak talking to eachother while playing.

For those that haven't joined our clan and play, you are missing out! We had such a blast... we got killed a lot (picked wrong server to play on... right guys?), but it was still fun.

There is a keyboard template that shows the keys... It can be found here.

As far as practicing, I would filter the server list to not show Official servers. You can practice on there, and if you get kicked it won't affect your scoring or honor. Another way is to load up a map and use the cheats to give yourself weapons. But you're going to lack the interactiveness of playing moving people on a online game.

Hope that helps.
