Watch the USS Missouri go from museum ship to fully operational, steaming out, fully fueled, loaded with 16" shells in 5 minutes. For this fantasy piece they might as well as used the CIWS, harpoons, 5" guns, and Tomahawks like they had right up until 1991.

Also, the director Peter Berg is a fan of the military and so they were treated very respectfully. ETA: Peter Berg is very controversial. From Wikipedia: “On July 15, 2015, Berg criticized ESPN's decision to honor Caitlyn Jenner with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award with an Instagram post in which he shared a Facebook photo of Army veteran Gregory D. Gadson (a double amputee who played a role in Berg’s Battleship film) alongside one of Jenner. It said: “One Man traded 2 legs for the freedom of the other to trade 2 balls for 2 boobs. It was a cheesy summer scifi movie that was entertaining if you didn't think too hard.
Someone called it the Zoomer's Independence Day. As a Millennial, I'll take Bill Pullman and Vivica A Fox over Rhianna and that Lone Survivor dude any day. That movie was a national treasure! |
