Came back from the range on Saturday and I noticed I scuffed the barrel down to the shiney metal on my Bushmaster AR, what sort spray paint do you folks suggest? Have a great Memorial day weekend.

Rustolium. Na, just kiddin, I don't think piant is your answer. I would live with it untill you have to do some major work to it.

Call Bushmaster. I'll bet you a dollar that they refinish it for free. The finish isn't supposed to come off that easy. It's worth a try anyway.

Nah, I would just leave it.  I would shoot it until you wear down the grooves/lands.

You can try some black paint, but I am not sure if the cleaning solvents would attack or remove it.

Try www.brownells.com, they have something listed to touch up Parkerized (phosphate) finishes.

My baby was rough when I got her.  I stripped and sanded it down with 600 grit and used Aluma-hyde and the finish is holding nicely.  Not as good as parkerized but it's a good poor man's job.
