Got everything packed,the weather is suppose to be great,$12"green fee"..ammo supplied,does it get any better then this?[:)]Here is a description of the 4 matches I'll be competing in.
SERVICE RIFLE - MATCH 5
Distance: 300 metres (yards).
Position: Prone.
Number of Shots: Two sighting and seven on score.
Target: 1.2 metre screen with Fig 12/59 Type "B" centred.
Type of Fire: Deliberate.
HPS: 35.[blue]score today 28/35[/blue]
PROCEDURE:
As per Match 1, except that the match is fired at 300 metres on an 1.2 metre screen Type "B"
Fig 12/59 centred.
SERVICE RIFLE - MATCH 6
Distance: 300 metres (yards).
Position: Prone.
Number of Shots: Two sighting and ten on score.
Target: 1 x 12/59.
Type of Fire: Snap Shooting x 10 exposures over a 2 metre frontage.
Rate of Fire: ONE SHOT ONLY at each exposure of 3 seconds each.
HPS: 50.[blue]score today 18.2 I lost a possible 20 points on this relay because the trigger pin backed out on me after 4 rounds. I scored 2 V bulls & 2 inners then my rifle layed down on me[/blue][:(]
PROCEDURE
As per Match 2, with the exception that the match is fired from the prone position at 300
metres.
SERVICE RIFLE - MATCH 7
Distance: 300 metres (yards).
Position: Prone.
Number of Shots: Two sighting and ten on score.
Target: 2 x Fig 11/59, spaced 1.5 metres apart centre to centre.
Type of Fire: Rapid.
Time Limit: Two 20 second exposures with 20 second between exposures.
HPS: 50.[blue]score today 47.3[/blue]
Conditions: 5 rounds to be fired on each exposure. 5 rounds to be fired at each
target.
PROCEDURE
As per Match 3, with the exception that the match is fired at 300 metres. Competitors firing
the .303 may remain in the prone position prior to the appearance of the target.
SERVICE RIFLE - MATCH 8
Distance: 300 - 200 metres (yards).
Position: Standing, kneeling or squatting.
Number of Shots: Ten on score, no sighters.
Target: 1 x Fig 12/59.
Type of Fire: Snap Shooting.
Rate of Fire: 2 shots at each exposure.
HPS: 50.[blue]score today 27.2 This is the match that will make or break you. I need to find and practice a tight kneeling position to bring my score up. the guy who won today shot a 46 on this match.[/blue]
Conditions: 5 x 8 second exposures.
PROCEDURE
1. As per Match 4, with the exception that the competitors advance to 200 metres on the 1
second exposure of the Fig 12/59.
2. Firers can will remain in the standing alert position upon reaching the 100 metre firing pointuntil the target appears. They will engage the targets from the standing, kneeling or squatting position upon the appearance of the targets. Firers must return to the standing alert position between exposures.
3. Two shots per exposure.
