If you mean the "New" recievered ones.
They (the recievers) are pieces of crap, I think they are going for a little under $400 now, but that just makes them really expensive parts kits, not even good parts sometimes.  The ones I have seen won't even lock the lugs all they way in, or even half way in, and the bolts won't lock back.  Some people find ones with good recievers but I have never seen one.  I have also heard several stories of barrels only hand tight, and compleatly worn out parts.  You might get lucky but it's not worth the effort to find a good one, you can get an "old" one from the CMP for $500, and its going to work.

century garands SUCK, they are notorious for having BAD headspacing
and cost $500, for that much you can get a better garand, something that will go up in value and not down

I suggest CMP as best source for a Garand.

Avoid these paperweights like the plague. I cannot say it strongly enough. JUNK JUNK JUNK. Don't waste your time or money on one of these things. Go through the CMP for one that WILL ACTUALLY WORK.

Yep, get the DCM Garands.  I would go thru the trouble to get one of those puppies.  They are much better than any of the commercial ones out there, even though I have neve actually seen a Century.  If you get one of those DCM Garands, make-sure that you save the ALL of the paper work that comes with it, because it will prove that your rifle is true, authentic, genuine U.S. govt-issued, and not a re-import, parts gun etc.

Firepower, or anyone else interested--

Try KY Imports. They have the 8-round enblocs for the Garand--100 clips for $30. Might be better prices somewhere, but since I snatched up a bunch of these, I haven't been pricing 'em.

I saw 3 of the century garands at a big outdoor flea market today here in SE Ohio. The prices those guys had on them were crazy!! the one guy had one marked $795,  [whacko] i think the other ones were priced at 6 something. [rolleyes]  Total junk anyway...

Like Homer Simpson salivating over donuts or beer, thinking about 6K loaded enblocs has made me soil myself.

Garand Shooter, dare I ask, when you bought 6K of them, what did you pay?

How long ago was this? In other words, its it still even remotely possible to purchase them in this quantity and at this price? Or was this during the "good old days"?
