Springfield just dropped this teaser on social media this morning:

HS PRODUKT VHS Springfield.. should future owners print out their return labels for repairs in advance? |

I just posted it over in their Industry forum.
The sample they imported a few years ago was the VHS-K3, so three VHS tapes? Plausible. Or their marketing people are gigantic cockteases and it'll end up being another 1911 or something. |

Unless they were able to switch to Stanag mags instead of the proprietary mags, no care.
|

Oh, shit.
I want one of those in the worst way. (The VHS rifle) Between this and the SA-35, Springfield is going to get some cash from me this year... |
|

Will it have important parts held in by glue instead of pins?

Not too familiar with the VHS. But what is HK's part in it? Cuz that thing has some VERY HK styling to it.

I knew it was something like that. That's a really cool idea. Ian probably covered it in greater detail, but the very first prototypes of the VHS used AR/M16 mags. Then they transitioned to G36-pattern ones since Croatia had far more of those in inventory than the AR/M16 type. The VHS-2 was modular in that regard and could be configured for either one. The CZ Bren 805 was setup much the same for the same reasons. In the early 2000s, there were more G36s in Europe than M16s. With the HK416 catching on everywhere, that's changing the status quo quite a lot. I hope IF we get a VHS-K3 that it retains that modular capability and the G36-type magazine well is available. My Bren 805 is setup for G36 mags (the "retro" mag well) and I have quite enough HK, CZ, and Magpul G36 mags to feed both. |

Maybe they could ship the gun with the STANAG magwell, but offer the G36 ones as an option - and maybe even add one for AUG mags, as I know there are lots of those out there as well. |

As was said, the Croatian military ones are set up to use G36 mags because Croatia has a lot of those. Other than that the gun is really more of a product-improved FAMAS (and the original VHS was very FAMAS, at least externally) than anything else. |

Other than the selector markings and the charging handle, I don't see much H&K lineage myself. |

Depending on price, I might bite. Would accompany my Tavor nicely

Its length of pull looks a mile long but I really want one. It looks far too tech-noir to not have.

I've been hoping for years that someone would import these. Figured it would never happen. FAMAS aesthetic without the wonky FAMAS operating system.

Edit: Ah adjustable. Looks like its 3 notches out. I wish there was a way to get this without the Springfield armory logo on it |

In on a VHS like a 17 year old in his hot high school teacher
