(Hartford-AP, May 25, 2001 7:45 AM) _ The state Senate has approved a bill to impose new restrictions on the sale of assault weapons.

The bill adds guns to a 1993 assault weapon ban that advocates say has become a national model.

Supporters said the law needs to be updated because gun makers have designed lookalike weapons that are similar to those that are banned, but are modified just enough to be legal.

The bill now goes to the House.

last month I wrote my rep and he said that it was dropped, did I miss something between now and then. I would love to see republican control in this communist state.

A friend of mine spoke at a hearing where this thing got tabled, but I believe it was a House subcommittee.

I don't know what to tell you guys.

I used to live in CT, but I just got SICK of it all.

It never ends, they keep chipping away at our 2nd Amendment rights. I hate to say it but someday to keep from losing them all we'll have to take the fight out of the politicians hands and bring it to the streets like any minority that had their rights trampled on! I know that sounds anarchistic but in the future they'll make the laws so restrictive that the 2nd Amendment will be non-existent.

Well, well, well...

You know what?  It's time to start taking the AW's (and pistols, too) from LE inventories in the state of Connecticut.  That's right, we need to start advocating the disarming of police and dissolve the police unions.

Being a cop does not guarantee LEO's the right to bear arms.  It's time to turn the tables in the gun control debate. Disarmament for everyone!

CRAP! Now I have to talk to
my girlfriend's mom.
I'll bet any amount of money
that if the sporting groups
get to hunt on Sundays that they will
back out of the debate
and feed us to the wolves.

I feel for you fellows. Here in New Mexico its not to bad. I am just waiting to see how many commies from Califonia move out here in the next few years. They sure like to mess up a great state like mine since they have about ruined things in their home state.

Once I graduate,
I'll sell my house then
I am gone.
I never would have come back after my EAS, but
my full tuition waiver (for being a veteran)
only applies to
CT state colleges.
In the mean time I'll do what I can
as a voter as well as try to influence the
indifferent masses, the antis in CT are a lost cause.

Couldn't agree with you more.  The police are an  extention of the population, not a para-military state run organization.  The police can only use what's available to the state's population.  POS socialists!

Garden Weasel,
You come on out to New Mexico. I'll hire you to work for me in the store until you can get on your feet out here. New Mexico needs all the transplanted gun lovers we can get. God knows we have plenty of anti's out here. Besides the living is cheap out here and we have perfect weather if you like wind and heat.

Just E-MAILED my Congresswoman...Gave her my thoughts on the legislative injustice I believed was being performed. I even invited her to my club to see how responsible people use AR's in competition with ill effects to no one. I hope she takes me up on it.

It doesn't matter where you move, they are gobbling up states, block by block.  We're holding the line in NC, but for how long?

Hey Sportsmans Supply, you got room for two new employees? It's ridiculous that we practically need an underground railroad for gun owners.

I am sure I can find you someting to do out here. I can get you job on a drilling rig that starts out at $14.75 per hour. Lots of work out since we are in an Energy Crisis

Historically CT, MA and MD used to be very pro-gun states. Things started to change in those states starting around 1960.

I live in CA which used to be a Open Carry State (back before the Black Panthers gave our state legislators a good scare by walking onto the floor of the state assembly visibley armed with rifles and shotguns while it was in full session).

I hate CA! and all of the communists here, unfortunately I am truly stuck here for the next 12 years.

Here in CA, they are going to pass a NY style handgun licensing law, another law which will mandate "smart" guns by 2003.

Every year it gets worse. Power is going out, Taxes are going to go up, more gun control laws, all kinds of B.S.

Meanwhile high tech companies are leaving this state because of its high taxes.
