Hey - after all it is Memorial Day. What better way to remember our dead departed???

For me -

I think I'll pull out the -

1. M1A. The other thread about M14 receivers got the juices flowing.

2. The new FAL. Gotta break her in, ya know.

3. Got to check out my match Garand. Wasn't cycling properly at the last match.

4. My new toy - Beeman .177 pellet gun. Its for practice for highpower.

There will be a pile of 308 brass in the desert Monday. FAL-M1A-REMY
I use a xerox of my first sargent as a target. I knew stealing his 8x10 of the chain of command wall would be a good thing, other than pissing him off. If any of you had ever the priviledge to meet him you would applaud me.

I've resolved to shoot a lot more .22lr.  Practice makes perfect, and .22 is cheap practice.  So, my Remington pump, 10/22,  MkII, and an old H&R will be going to the range more often.  The centerfires will be staying home for a while.

Sorry to hear that, Golgo.

When I go to the range, ONLY the old duffers / Viagara Corporation shareholders show up with the .22 lr's.

Speaking of not being able to take a big bore pounding, your wife begged me to stop after only 3 hrs. last night...

Actually, it really is nothing but an effort to regain some bullseye skills I stupidly allowed to atrophy.

Since the IPSC Colorado State Championship is this weekend, I'll be shooting my Para open gun.  After that, I'm taking my 10 year old daughter shooting, so that'll be a couple houndred rounds of 22lr in a Ruger.

You mean you have one of those horribly dangerous gas-powered ball-bearing guns?  Shame on you!

I'm shooting a big-bore IHMSA match this weekend, so I'll be shooting a T/C Contender in .357 for Field Pistol, and a 7BR Remington XP-100.  That's Sunday.  Hopefully on Monday I'll get back out to the range to try out some new handloads in my AR.

Saturday - shotguns at the club.

Sunday  - ? on the ranch.  Probably the M4gery to be patriotic.

Monday  - BB guns in the backyard with my kids waiting for the F-15 flyover.  We live on a hill overlooking a lake and downtown Dallas.  Every year the jets come in low over the water and climb over our house.  The kids get the biggest rush from four on the deck.

There is a WORLD of difference between two men swapping good natured insults about the other MAN, and one of them making rude, sexual comments about the other man's wife.

God forbid someone should make a joke about your sexual prowess.

If you can't see the difference and just simply apologize, then NO - I want no truce with you.

Okay, Garandman, I'm sorry.  From this point forward, though, I think you and I had better confine our discussion to technical issues.

Apology accepted, and all forgiven.

All we REALLY need to do is refrain from making sexual comments about the ither guy's wife.

I am intensely sensitive about that. My wife was molested as a child.

I have this simple rule - NO ONE will be allowed to say anything about her in my presence that they wouldn't dare say to her face, with me standing nearby.

As I'm 6'4" and 260 with a protective streak a mile wide, no ones ever tried it.

Truce.

Have a good Memorial Day weekend.

Ottawa, IL on Sunday.

I hope the weather will be good.

I won't say what guns I'll bring.  I would just make you jealous, anyway.

Sunday, I am taking my new Mossberg M-590A1 and trying it out on the elusive paper targets, and my Beretta M-92.  I would HATE (sour grapes?) to have to lug 3-18 weapons, as above, out to the range and fire all of them!!
