Whenever anyone starts a post about something in general they begin the subject title with OT.  Now obviously if we are talking about something other than firearms on a firearm related site it would indeed be off topic.  But this is general discussion right?  The way I see it, general means anything.  So what would be considered "off topic"?

Damn this is some strong coffee.

Anything related to firearms?

Well, there's kinda "general" discussion that has at least SOME fleeting reference to AR's, or at least guns...and then there's "general" discussion that doesn't come anywhere near the topic.
For example:  "My boy got busted for doing 70 in a school zone last night" is NOT off-topic, because chances are the cop who nailed him was wearing a Glock, so there are guns involved in the discussion.
On the other hand: "I'm sitting here getting hammered with the seriously sexy girl from next door and my wife is due home any minute" is off topic, because before I even started, I would have made sure there wasn't a gun for twenty miles in any direction.
Simple, eh?
