The movie literally ends in prose about alcoholics.  Perfect for tonight.

I thought he was a 'down on his luck' pro football player doing muscle-piece strong-arm for a loan shark. I hope I'm wrong as i don't want to be right on this (chick flick).

That video painted a very black story to me.  Well mostly black.  Porsche was gay, Ferrari was alpha - but besides that it looked like he fell and he was fucked by awesome 80's hair.

I used to like this song until every acoustic cover act in the world played it, seemingly twice per set.

Take a Look at Me Now is an amazing love song.  I have no idea what the movie is about, but as far as love ballads go, there aren't much better.  Phil and Kenny Loggins were the male voices of 80s radio.

For a very long time that song reminded me of an ex in high school. Amazing song

THat movie was a first date I went on with what soon became a great girlfriend I had in the 80s....

She asked about a year later if I wanted to get married!

She was almost the first Ex-Mrs. Adirondack1

BTW Aimless she still lives in Oswego, I met her in Florida...

I fell asleep trying to watch it. It's terrible and it's only redeeming feature is some hot chick banging a stalker would be too politically incorrect to make today. When I woke up I was startled as apparently nothing had happened while I slept.

The hero is a football player who basically ended his career because a coach ordered him to injure himself and then had to work for a hoodlum because he had spent all his money. The girl is a former drug addict the hoodlum convinced to stop using. Then she tries to stab him during a dv and robs him. If they weren't good looking they could be people sitting waiting for arrangements at any criminal court in a big city

I can see how a law degree could ruin a lot of movies for you.

Kind of like how the gunspergers hear “clip” being used in place of “magazine” and start foaming at the mouth.

Richard Widmark played a real slimey S.O.B in that movie.
I think he might have met a few in his career to get it that correct.

Rachel Ward was so beautiful. Closing scene still.
Oh my.

Edit. She seems to have cried more than I remembered.

It’s also funny how James Woods flipped the role around in Casino, where he runs off with a bookie’s wife… and yet he is still the bad guy somehow.

Always liked the Genesis song they used in that creepy Magnum PI episode.  Can't find a clip from the episode so I assume it is a copywrite issue with youtube but found a link for it elsewhere if it works.

Rachel Ward was beautiful in that movie.  Very little makeup needed.  Very fine.

@Aimless if you want to hear the best version, it's one of the Live Aid performances. He not only nails it but makes it even better.

His work throughout the 80s was fantastic.  "Let it Rain Down" features Eric Clapton on guitar and is one of many epic songs Phil has created.

Surprisingly great movie.
Has a real noir type movie.
Alex Karras plays a great supporting part, seriously.
