I used to be excited by new releases and such.
Then, their products became so capable that I didn’t need anything new. Phones, computers, tablets, all last me years now. |
|
Are these being released with the security vulnerability already installed?

I do intend to replace my Apple Watch 4, I’m wanting to see what the 7 brings before I plunk down some hard earned bucks.

I've had the same MacBook Air for years now. Hopefully they'll reveal something laptop related. I don't follow any of this stuff so I have no idea what they have in the pipe.

I can't imagine anything the 13 and new Apple Watch can have that would make me want to upgrade from my 12 Pro Max and series 6 Watch. Both do everything I need really well (except Apple's swipe word recognition is dogshit)

Text, GPS, phone calls, occasional browsing for info. thats all i use it for. |

If you’ve got a 12, why would you need to upgrade to a 13? I just got a 12 pro max a couple weeks ago and can’t imagine the 13 would be that much different.

Got my 12 pro max two weeks ago from my old 6s. Time for an upgrade yet?

Interested to see what they'll announce for the iPhones and AirPods today.
Just bought an M1 iPad Pro and Apple Watch Series 6 earlier this year so no more Apple gear for me this year Leaks for the iPhone 14 look really interesting, so I'll hang on to my 11 Pro Max one more year... |
|
I literally just got a MacBook Air w/ M1, hope they don't announce an Air w/ the M1x chip. Anyone know if FCPX is optimized for the new chips yet, or just the M1?

Well, given the state of the world the last 18 months - hard to expect anything revolutionary. So lets see. A decent looking apple watch is probably not going to happen-I would love to see them make something mostly round. A reasonable sized phone, nope they did that last time - no real need. Apple AR glasses - that has been in the wind for a long time, so why would it materialize now.
Now things that might show up - improved Covid contact tracing (perhaps in the watch, as that is supposed to be a health related tool). Covid vaccine passport in the apple wallet. --- I liked my Iphone X, but it died without reason when it was less than 2 years old. As such, I think I have an 11pro. I would have considered replacing it with a 12 if it broke (due to the smaller sized 12 offering), but instead my wife's Iphone X died without a reason and she got a 12-but midsized. My apple watch 3 is still working fine most of the time, abet something has changed in the settings and it no longer rings via cellular data-which is 1/2 the reason I got it in the first place. Now it is solely a glorified wrist alarm clock. A few years back, we were saturated at the house with ipads - but the kids have managed to start breaking them at a increasing rate - and sitting on my wife's 13" pro really pissed me off - shop said not repairable. I think we have 3 mini's, but I don't know if a single one is working right anymore. My air and pro work fine - I hide them from the kids. |

One of these days, I'm going to get around to gettin' one of those ifruit products.
I really like the watch, but then I gotta get the phone also. Maybe one of these days. |

I used to work for AT&T and had an iPhone. Once the first Samsung Galaxy S came out in 2010, the swype feature is what sold me and I switched. My S20+ is awesome and my Galaxy watch still does everything I need.

i’m still using a 6s. how is your 12 in need of replacement?
tech junkies. |

My 6splus screen shatter cracked during a boating trip over the weekend. Not sure how. Currently using it with a layer of packing tape.
What will best value upgrade be? I do like the size of the Plus. It was a hand me down from relative after I left another phone in Frankfurt airport. Thought it was comically huge at first, but not so much now. Is there an iPad mini pro that might be worth looking at and capable of actual productivity tasks and not just a glorified bathroom/media device? |

Quoted: They gonna announce the MBP with M1 chips? View Quote Since they ditched Intel I couldn't care less. I don't care how awesome the new chip is. I valued the ability to dual boot Windows and not have to use virtualization. It sucks but I have little use for OSX. Just about every productive app I have is Win only. Was nice to boot OSX to surf and other basic computer stuff. |

I'm glad I invested in them. It's amazing to me just how good they are at fucking people over and getting them to be excited about it.
I got my wife the 12, and the fucking thing doesn't even come with the power adapter. And from what I understand the one that came with previous models has been known to fuck up the phones. I mean you charge more, save more money and the end customer laps it up because you tell them "its somehow saving the planet by making the boxes smaller so we can fit more on the pallets". All while ignoring the fact that the only way that's saving the planet is by "employing" more sweatshop workers who will probably live a shorter life thanks to apple. |

ditching intel chips is already seen as a major mistake. no one gives a shit about your battery life when you can't run most of the stuff you actually need. you know what else lights up a room for hours and hours with pretty much no other functionality? a flash light.

Is this the year they reintroduce Touch ID?
My 7 Plus is getting a little long in the tooth. |

it's been years since they done anything worth upgrading, I'd assume the same as the last few years it's fast, more memory, 8 cameras, etc

I won’t be upgrading this year…I always skip a year. My wife probably would as this is her year to upgrade the phone.

In before everybody’s iPhone 6/7/8 start glitching and freezing up due to the latest “software” update.
I’ve been an apple fan since the second phone. They ALWAYS fuck with the older models right about the time a new phone comes out. On a side note my MacBook Air circa 2013 runs like new. Still get 7 hours out of the original Battery. Fast as my W10 2019 Samsung. |

I'm looking to upgrade my MBP from 2015 to a new Air. When was the last big upgrade to the Air?
