Watch what you say; I don't want anyone to get
in trouble.
What can his constituents do within the law?
What can President Bush do?
What is Jefferds email address? I want to express my displeasure!

I don't think anyone can do anything about it.

I do believe that he should have the right to change parties BUT by doing so he is no longer representing those that elected him and he should have to resign. He can run in the next election as whatever he wants.  Will never happen though.

I saw something this AM regarding when Strom Thurman did the same thing in the 40's...

It was presented he went back home and held a special election, to allow the TRUE will of the people to be decided....

Would you expect/accept anything LESS for Vermont?

Besides , being drawn and quartered OR tar and feathered is WAY to good for his ass....Perhaps BOTH!!!!

From what I heard on the news this morning, this guy hasn't really voted the party line anyway.  Let him go.

Remember his state is basically liberal.  The other Senator is liberal and the state also has a Independent/Socialist Congressman.

His poll numbers are probably up in VT.  After all he stands to become Chairman of the Senate Environment Cmte & his fellow VT Senator would become Chairman of Senate the Judical cmte! A LOT of clot for such a small state! Some might say he is doing a great job for his state giving it influence far above it's proportion to US population.  Highly unlikely the voters will try to recall him & he was just re-elected in 2000!

I'm more upset about Leahy becoming Chairman of Judical cmte & messing up Bush's Fed Judge appointments.[:(!]

Miller in GA is a hope but there is always Thurmond dying & being replaced by a Dem Governor in SC.   Also Senator Carnahan is only in until 2002.  I don't see her doing much or making much noise but I also don't see any activity by Republicans in MO either.

Just another Vermont commie. Vice President only gets to vote if there is a tie, right? No Democrats on my property, or in my life, Just one more reason for me hate the baby killing, freedom taking scum.

A true SOB.  He should have to at least stand for reelection as a democRAT against a viable Republican candidate.  In fact, there is probably nothing lawfully to be done.

Vermont may be liberal leaning but don't they have the best CCW laws in the land? I think everyone (except felons?)can carry without any permit nonsense.

Vermont is a confused state, social liberal and firearm conservative. I can imagine their open carry will soon dissapear.
The New England Republicans are in name only.

So much for talk about firearm conservatism, face it, is there anyone in Vermont you'd like to whack?

Vermont as a whole is conservative. Burlington
is commie liberal. Part of the GrandPlan is to
capture small states by bringing in welfaredems
to shift the balance. MA and NY are two of the
donor states to acomplish this.
The same thing is happening in ID,SD,ND,MT,WY
etc..

i was watching fox news over lunch and something occured to me.  i think this fella is enjoying the spotlight just a bit too much.  they have pics of him leaving his home in this morning waving and beaming from ear to ear.  not to mention he keeps pushing back his press conference.  first it was going to be this morning, then 2 in the afternoon-now its sometime tommorrow back in vermont.  he's getting his all out of his 15 minutes. this sap is just getting off on all the media attention as well as the perks that the democrats are going to throw his way (ie. chairmanships).
