New to the Forum .....HI!

I am entertaining the idea if buying a AR 15. I would like to buy a rifle that I can use at the range and an occasional trip to S.D. for "doggies" the last time that I handled a Colt rifle I was in the Air Force at boot camp, way to many year's ago! I am fairly knowledgeable on firearm's in general,but other than "wet fire at Lackland" I haven't had any experience with these rifles.
Any suggestion's for a Newbie?

Welcome to the board!

Take a look at the LEGP (limited edition AR15.com group purchase) it would be great for a first AR resonable also. When you decide to go "doggin" you could add a Varmint Upper and have 2 rifles for the price of one!

The LEGP rifle looks good but sounds like you may be using it for a bit of varminting duties. Look around for a while and get a good idea of what you are going to use it for then make your decision. Good luck.

Welcome aboard! Although it says I'm a Junior Member, it is for the "revised board." I use to post all the time on the old boards, however, had an extremely busy semester in grad school and had to take a break. The people are great on this board and you are assured to always learn a lot!! Trust me...it can be very addictive to!! :)

Yeh, take a look at the LEGP for your first AR. And do not make the worst mistake a newbie can, buying USA mags. ONLY BUY USGI!!! It even rhymes, so if you forget it I will smack you.
