Ok, I am torn between these

1. Glock 26 (To match my 27 so I can do some two gun "crowd control")
2. Mossberg 590A1 (Because I don't have a shot gun)
3. Springfield M1A (Because who doesn't like dropping $1400)
4. Beretta 92 or 96FS (To match my 92FS for more 2 gun "crowd control")

I am leaning towards the Mossberg because its the cheapest of all the above guns at $399.I like the idea of having matching guns with the Glock and Beretta, but I dont think my collection is extensive enough for me to be getting duplicates yet.

I really want the M1A, but damn, only one that is CA legal is the Loaded model. The lowest price is $1300 and change. Could the Mossberg be used for shooting clays? Not for competition or anything, but just backyard blasting? I know very little about shotguns.

What do you guys think?

Since you don't own a shotgun, then that would be my pick.  Any shotgun can be used for shooting clays in the yard, but it will be more of a challenge than some others.  Personally prefer the Remington 870, but the Mossy is pretty nice too.

The Mossberg...with the bayonet lug.

Gotta love a shotgun with a bayonet. Talk about intimidation!

If you can't shoot someone with the shotgun you can always stab the tires on their car with it.

Forget the mossberg and pick up a benelli m1 super 90.  The one weapon EVERYONE should have is a good shotgun.  The benelli is also a deadly serious combat shtogun, and semiauto is tons of fun for "backyard blasting".
Just my 2 cents.

Buy a shotgun. You just won't have a collection without one.

I say go for the Springfield M1A if you have the cash. If you decide on the shotgun, go with the Remington 870 Wingmaster as opposed to the Mossberg.

Enjoy!

I recently purchased a shotgun a Remington 870 Wingmaster (I got a great deal on it).  I will tell you, it is the most fun to go out in the woods with.  I have handguns and rifles, but it is just a blast, no pun intended.

Go for the Shotgun, everybody needs one.[^]

The above is a very good choice, look around some though 'cause $399 sounds a little high.

Remember the line in "Pulp Fiction"
"We should have brought shotguns"
A very versatile weapon that shoots all manner of ammo from birdshot to flares to bolos.
I prefer the Remington 870 over the Mossberg, tons more accesories, plus more reliable.

Plus working the slide is a very intimidating sound.

M1A. You won't be sorry, and they are only going to go up in price.
