What's gotten into the .Gov over there? Are they TRYING to keep the 'prisoner abuse' shitpot boiling or what?

Just heard on the news some .gov guy announce they had pictures of "even more horrific abuse"!! What even more horrific than Nick Berg being beheaded?

The way they are talking I am expecting to see pictures of Iraqis being boiled in oil or something, not frat pictures! Only the US gov seems to be releasing the pictures now and is scoring own goals - insane.

Quote: "There were some awful scenes," said Senator Richard Durbin, a Democrat. "It felt you were descending into one of the wings of hell and sadly it was our own creation." Another Democrat, Senator Ron Wyden, said: "Take the worse case and multiply it several times over."

I seriously am beginning to believe that some people have led VERY sheltered lives…

Just remember, there are some reports out saying that many of these photos are fakes and produced by porn sites and other people. I wonder if our government is looking into that or not? I'm sure if they are proven fake nothing much in the mainstream media will be said about it.

I agree though, it's idiocy. Yesterday all I saw were disgusted congressmen and women coming out of a room after viewing porno. I wonder if they'll organise a meeting to watch the brutal, straight from hell, evil that was done to Nick Berg

Ironic also that this kind of thing has been going on in prisons in the US and around the world (or worse) since probably the dawn of man, but you don't see any of them crying foul to the "atrocities" going on here right in our own country. Why? Oh, because the people in our prisons here are criminals...the people in Abu Garib are just the friendly neighborhood terrorists that slowly saw people's heads off. I say the US pay them billions of dollars in reparations

"our' abuse pictures guys are in DEEP shit, pictures have been proved bogus… complete with independent corroboration… their ass's are going to be in the fire

"Daily Mirror photos 'not taken in Iraq'

Adam Ingram, armed forces minister, on Thursday told the Commons that Daily Mirror photographs purporting to show British troops abusing an Iraqi detainee, were "categorically not taken in Iraq".

Mr Ingram said a Royal Military Police investigation had found that the truck in which the pictures were taken had never been in Iraq. This had also been "independently corroborated", the minister added.

The Daily Mirror has repeatedly insisted that the photographs are genuine. One depicts a British soldier allegedly urinating on a detainee, another shows a captive being struck in the groin by the butt of a military rifle.

Mr Ingram called on Piers Morgan, editor of the newspaper, to "to assist fully in this inquiry" and said that the publication of the photographs had produced a negative impact on British armed service personnel.

They could be showing pics from a typical day at a high security prison for violent offenders in the United States. This is the stuff they've been dishing out to their women and each other all along. They are supposed to feel humiliated and degraded. Aversion therapy.

One of the photos was described as that England chick having sex with multiple partners (US soldiers) in front of prisoners...

She was just following orders.

*edit Found Linkage:  http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/20802.htm

"She was having sex with numerous partners. It appeared to be consensual," said a lawmaker who saw the photos.

I would describe that as 'porn' … "even more horrific' don't seem the right way to describe it… I just can't follow the Dems line of thought on this .

I know you guys hate the truth but the pictures in question were provided through the military investigator and were gathered from the MP’s in the pictures.

The photos were viewed by the senators during a three hour secret look see. The pictures will remain secret because they are so inflammatory that they fear their release.

None of the pictures depict any of the interrogations performed by Military Intelligence or the civilians hired by the CIA to interrogate the prisoners. 25 deaths occurred during or immediately after the interrogations. So far twelve are listed as homicides in the investigation. By Military Intelligence’s own figures 90% of the people interrogated were cases of mistaken identity.

At this time it looks like no one will ever be charged with the 25 dead. The Military investigator gave very little information to the senators about the people actually doing the formal interrogations/torture. The people doing the interrogations/torture are simply called civilian contractors. They have no names/faces or nationality and no one is credited with hiring them or ordering them to perform their duties and no mention is made of where they are now.

I have no problem with torture of spy/saboteurs or terrorists if there is sufficient proof of the allegations and it’s believed they possess vital information concerning the whereabouts of VIP or of future attacks. However the people being interrogated were not accused of being terrorists or of being spy/saboteurs. This being the case, I’m assuming they were looking for information on WMD’s.

Most Americans have become so cold hearted that they don’t feel badly that so many people (90%) were treated so badly. People who just days before where pro US and were happy to be liberated. They were wrongly accused, captured and interrogated/tortured and their numbers are in the thousands according to the ICRC.

Americans are so stupid that can’t see past a few pictures and anything they can’t see pictures/video of never happened.

Perhaps it’s true. If a tree falls in the woods and no one takes a picture/video it never really happened. Even if the person who cut it confesses to cutting it down.
