I have been looking around ebay for the last several weeks and can't believe the prices people get for stuff there! There is a Sten Mark V kit that's at $89 already and there are several days to go. There was a Mark III kit that sold for about $129 IIRC. I need to get some junk on there. No telling how much "treasure" there is out in my barn.

I don't have the patience for it.  I've bid on several things over the years and never gotten any of them.  Lately I've been trying to find bike parts (specifically a sportster gas tank with no dents) but it's too much trouble to keep track of the crap.

Give me an old fashioned swap meet or flea market any day.

I am having a bit of a problem there. I bid for and was high bidder on 6-30 round M16 mag pouches for a grand total of $6.49. The seller wants payment by money order only, within ten days of the auction closing. It's been three days with no return email for the address to mail the funds to. I think he might be trying to renig on the deal because it was so low but there was no reserve. He has great feedback so I'm hoping he will come through.

What are my options if he crawfishes on the deal?

There's place on there to report bad deals. If he's a regular seller there he won't want the bad press, so don't let him stick it to ya.

I love e-bay. I collect a particular type of bottle, and I can find them there for a price I am willing to pay. Picked up a lot of gun parts there too.

Try this:  cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?UserInformationRequest

It will give you their contact info (home address, name and even phone number).

I've completed several purchases on ebay and have yet to be taken. But you deffinately have to know the market value of your purchase. There are several people on the site that will take you for a ride. Just do some basic background work.

Sold and bought on eBay... Don't think I ever made the kind of profit that Jeep29 mentioned... I usually use it to get rid of crap when I need money for new toys. It's easier than driving arond to pawn shops and shit.

I try to steer clear when I'm not on there selling something... otherwise I get the fever and start buying shit I don't need.

I got a few auctions going right now there.
I sometimes get to make a great sale, 37.00 for a 22.99 book, others I just get rid of stuff I haven't used in years and don't plan on using for many more.

I have bought a few things on ebay. But I love to sell stuff there. People go nuts on some of those auctions. I purchased some mags from a guy on this board for $45.00 shipped.  I put them on ebay with a buy now of $45.00 plus shipping and sold them for $75.00 plus shipping.

Pangea if he's got good feedback I wouldn't be too nervous yet. Give him a couple more days but continue to try to get ahold of him. Sometimes guys go out of town or whatnot.  I've only been burned once on there but it was my fault, I bought outside the auction process and never recieved my item,  they screwed me but it wasn't for too much.

Just DON'T leave feedback till you are satisfied, that's about the strongest lever you have, bad feedback is something most people with good feedback work to avoid.

ONce I bought a Nobler RC Plane at a garage sale for five bucks and sold it for about 150. It was a classic I guess.

I'd Like to hear more about that regulator,  was it a collectible one or what? or did the Pawn shop guy sell a really nice one but didn't know what he had?  Stories like that fascinate me.....

I have an AK pistol grip and a USGI .45 mag pouch with 2 mags coming right now.

I've seen some semi-hard to find gun parts on there before.  Gotta be careful too though, lot of junk magazines (colt esp) and stuff there too.

I had a bid on a ushenka (funny furry russian winter hat) this week but I lost it.

Great place to sell your childhood toys that have been collecting dust for 20yrs.  Just sold off a bunch of old G.I. Joe toys from when I was a kid.  I have sold a bunch of stuff through ebay.  You would be surprised what some people will pay for something you don't want.

It was an old double hose US Divers Aqua Master regulator with rotten hoses but a great looking body. The pawn shop had it in a box with a bunch of old sports gear with a $10 tag on it. I bought it an figured it would be an easy $40. The day I listed it I started getting emails wanting pictures and asking if I'd ship to Austrailia, etc. In the end a guy right down in Tn won it and wanted to have it shipped overnight.  When he received it he was very happy so I guess it must have been something he really wanted.

In the summer I hit a couple Flea Markets here at Ft Campbell and pick up lots of military gear that usually doubles its price when resold on ebay. It helps out with the ammo budget.
