My first date with my wife (30 years ago) was at Pizza Inn
Anniston, Alabama.  Looked sort of like that,  long since torn down.

Found one in Dallas a couple,of years ago. Old guy cooked us a pizza special.
It was great .

Pizza Hut thread got  me thinking

Old guys usually don't wash their hands after peeing and pooping.

Hope you enjoyed your feces stuffed crust.

They took them out, but there used to be quarter operated TVs on each table

One opened back up around here awhile ago.

Buffet only. Attracted trashy folks.

That’s what 700degree oven is for

Anything going in that comes out sterile —including his hands

We would sometimes go to the one in Columbus, GA for lunch buffet early 80's.

We weren't supposed to wear BDUs in restaurants but the place was always packed with joes, enlisted and officer.

There was a guy named Lyle Clothier owned a dozen or more from Ft.Smith Arkansas down to Vicksburg Mississippi. He based his franchise in Memphis. Pizza was good and the first Lunch Buffet at a pizza joint I remember  He had a bar adjoining one near the Airport known as the "Inn One" it was a classy joint in the late 70's early 80's. The waitresses dressed like Radio City Rocketts.

We had Rec league sports banquets there all the time when I was a kid.  If you had to go to the bathroom, best just get a new drink when you come back unless you like your Coke with Parmigiano cheese and red pepper flakes.  I really don't remember much about the actual pizza.  It turned into a Pizza Den, then went away.

In the late 80's we'd go to eat there.  They'd become like Cici's, so they were a buffet, all you can eat.

I haven't seen one in business for years, though their buildings still live one as something else, around here anyway.

I 'member. There was one here at the mall when I was a kid. It was awesome. Salad bar had pepperoni on it. I developed a taste for pepperoni and red french which was basically what my "salad" consisted of. The pizza was really good too. There's still some in VA, & I plan to eat at one of them when I get a chance. There's one close to Myrtle Beach too, maybe between Conway & Myrtle, or there was the last time I was down. Left side of the road headed east.

How about Pappy's Pizza? It was damn good too. Not sure how widespread that chain was though.

Pizza Inns were great.  As a 5th grader in the late 80s, I was a bigger fan of Pizza Hut with the BookIt free pizzas, but the Pizza Inns weren't bad.

Never been to one.  Next road trip will have to look for one.  I have been to a couple Cici's pizzas.  That's some cheap pizza.

My first job was at Pizza Inn when I was a Jr in HS.
Fun job.

ETA: One of the waiters stuffed chili pepper flakes in a waitresses' cigarette and left. I watched her light it and take a long drag . She choked really hard. I felt really bad.

The local Shakey's was the hot hang out when I was young.

Now I'm trying to remember the name of the place in San Diego that made the giant pizzas.

The one in my town closed down a long time ago but there are still a few in the area.

Oak Ridge and Morristown both had one a year or so ago, but I haven't checked to see if they survived the scamdemic.

We had both Pizza Inn and Shakey's back when I was a kid.   I remember the cool signs Shakey's had, but loved the beef and onion pizza at Pizza Inn.

My hometown had a Pizza Hut and a Big Cheese Pizza next to each other, literally with 10 feet between the buildings and a Taco Tico about 10 feet from the Pizza Hut.  Pizza Inn was a bit further away, being caddy corner across the street.

Lot's of good memories from that intersection.

A waitress wanted me to make her a small pepperoni pizza. I placed a small pile of red pepper flakes under each pepperoni. She was NOT amused.

There's a Pizza Inn near us that has ignored our idiot governor's restaurant mask mandate.  They basically said "what's the point?"

We eat there at least once a week now.

Sorry, no more specifics.  The gestapo is likely listening.  If you are, F you!
