The M1A is the only semi rifle to own in .308.

What are you smoking? The FAL is great too, although, there is something about the M1A.

I got ya, and that's cool. I like FALs and M1A's, but I'm partial to the FAL for some reason.

If you mean for the miilitary they oughta get AR10s, you can actually put a scope on them, there is a significant amount of parts interchangeability between the m16 and AR10 and the operation is the same as M16s. I'm not nutz about FALs, but they would have been our 7.62 rifle if it hadn't been for the shenanigans in the testing procedures used to get the M14 chosen.
Not that m1as aren't fun, but it's a dated design. I'm not crazy about fal iron sights either but I have very little experience with them. |

 The FAL borrowed heavily from the model '49' design so why bother with it? |
