The non-liberal-pansy Baldwin is the team leader, and as they're walking along on some planet he's talking about how he came to have 4 kids. Funny stuff. Even though there was no violence or vietnamese killing it reminded me of his character from Full Metal Jacket

He rocked in Firefly. Reminded me of a few people around here, particularly his relationship with his rifle.

He's not related to those Baldwins.

Mal: "Are you offering me a trade?"

Jayne: "A trade!? Hell, it's theft. This is the best damn gun made by man. It has extreme sentimental value. It's miles more worthy than what you got."

Mal: "What I got? She has a name."

Jayne: "So does this!" (caresses the gun lovingly) "I call it Vera."

Mal: "Well, my days of taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle."

Jayne: "See, Vera? Dress yourself up you get taken out somewhere fun."

No, he didnt get cast . He was trying be one of the key players but was unsuccessful. www.gateworld.net/atlantis/characters.shtml

Of course they may call him back eventually as a guest again or as a permanent figure(like Jonas).

Which is fortunate for us Firefly fans, because it leaves him available to be in the Firefly    movie that starts production this summer.

Sooner or later, you will see the entire series – It's that good.

Amazon.com has the full 14 episodes on a 4-disk boxed DVD set – Best $35 you'll ever spend...

Or you could get a Netflix account and a DVD burner.....

Usually I'd agree on the download bit (arhhh, shiver me timbers, a pirates life for me...)
but every Firefly boxed set that gets sold is a slap in the face to the fvcktard FUX network suits who cancelled the series.
"Nobody was watching it..."
"Really?  Then why is the boxed DVD set breaking all kinds of sales records??  Hmmmm???"

But you are also giving your money TO Fox. I bought the set, actually 'pre-purchased' it. I made a copy for a fellow member, but it is still a dilemma: let the sales numbers show it's popularity or get more folks on the bandwagon for the movie and probable new series.

I bought the Firefly DVD set on the recommendations here from ARFCOM ... I had never seen one single episode of Firefly.

It ROCKS.  I just got in the mail this weekend and spent the better part of the weekend watching the discs.  I'm not a fan of the whole cowboy/Wild West thing and I still liked it.  Definitely a worthy addition to any DVD collector's library!

BTW I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't figure out Jayne was Animal Mother until around the third episode.

Got my slap in. Well, back to the internet, TV just plain sucks anymore.

DAMN I LOVED that show.  It was replaced with FASTLANE!  A total piece of SHIT!  Canceled after two seasons.  Firefly ROCKED.

I believe I will pick up the DVD set on the way home.

Watched Full Metal Jacket this weekend with the girlfriend's son who is getting ready to go into the Navy. Wanted him to get a taste of what boot camp will be like although I know it's pussified now...but no need to tell him that.

You have no idea what the Clinton Adm has done to my USN Bootcamp.
IM me and I'll give you the details.

BTW I went through in 91 during the end of "the old Navy" and it is light years easier now.

I went through Navy boot camp in 1982, it was easy back then.

It's the NAVY after all.
