Hey I told ya guys it would be quick!!!
We had to move some of the cables before the push so that took all of 5 seconds, then we yanked the pos load balancer out, put the new router in, swapped power and cables, and let it boot up. Roughly 1 minute of downtime? Hopefully a very minor burp in the system.
The new router should be good to go for quite some time, although we may upgrade the memory in it to be safe. No rush on that of course.
Another spot of good news, all the machines we replaced worked and will be setup as we bring services online. We did have one machine die in transit, but it was just loose memory and we got it running within a few minutes. The machines which went up include the new photo server (just hardware replacement, not new code yet!) and the archive server (a monster!).
Photos should be back up sometime tonight/tomorrow and Archive will be brought online once the rest of the site is operational and tested.
Thanks for your patience guys, it's been a LOT of work on the networking, hardware, and software sides and things haven't really gone smoothly. Again I want to thank those who took the extra step to help us out with some of our networking issues.
