Maybe I'm insensitive but the people that "cry" EMOTIONAL* pain no nothing of real physical* pain IMO. I've been divorced 20+ yrs ago....I had a emotiomal... *REACTION but not actual PAIN*. I recently became aware through a MRI I had a "scarred spinal cord" due to EXTREEM spinal column compression (wondered why my back hurt) so surgury was nessessary.
The Neurosergeuon threw out 1 disc (c-6/7), fuseing it and and cutting others and such, 10 cuts total on the c-spinal column itself of which there are only 7 discs. I go to re-hab now and its a bunch of (women/yesactualfemales) all complaining of this or that. Granted some have actual physical issues!...... But most are just a bunch of whiners.....O'yeah, their women This is not a women bashing thread..... although it may seem as such.

They're trained that they are SUPPOSED to have issues and talk about it, etc.
Nobody is supposed to deal with anything.

Women talk about their pain.  Men lose their typing ability.

Iunderstand your pain.  But don't discount others pain.  I am sure there are plenty of times people will look at you over the next couple of years and think you are just fine.

There is such a thing as psychogenic pain caused by emotional stress.

Just so you know.

LARRYG....I have never used spell checker or properly arrange my paragraphs W/MSN word etc. here on the www. or arfcom, you don't understand my rant I take it?....I really do not care how I look on paper so'ta speak. I still write letters rather than properly PRINT them out on my 'puter. I never heard of psychogenic pain......I'll google it, Thanks! jblachly my friend, can I call you my friend? but I can not understand people complaining of pain that is caused EMOTIONALY, now a guy missing a limb complaining of his fingers hurting (phantom pain) I understand.....sgtar15 my friend I know that I'm sometimes viewed as a painless/not bad off physically, person by others, like I do them. However on specialist evaluation I'm lucky I'm not Quadrapligic, in their opinion. Pain is different for everyone I'm told and I'm not afraid to admit I'm to dense to understand people saying they are in pain because of emotional issues such as a break-up w/their S.O. or the like

I can tell you for a fact that when my brother died, my insides hurt.  Hurt like hell.  It was a visceral (rather than somatic) pain and it was as real as it could be.

Over a breakup..I don't know.

I agree there is no pain from emotion stress.  But Iam like you, 3 back surgeries and have near constant pain.  People tell me it can't be to bad if I stopped taking pain pills.  But they don't see me on my bad days.

So don't judge other's pain.  I used to, and now I am in their situation.

Karma is a bitch!

I have found it easier so far in life to live with physical pain then deal with my "emational" or whatever they are problems.
