For a second I thought that big ass thing on the back of the big rig was a bomb!!
That would be the mother of all bombs.
I guess it is a submarine.
I say lets build a bomb the size of a sub and drop it in the middle of Iraq.

Yes they are.  The DSRV is small enough to fit in a C-5 though.  As one of the few recuse subs that can actually get people out of a broken submarine (I think the Brits have a smaller one, and that's it), they get shipped around the world to support rescue operations and training with just about any semi-friendly country.  It could be that they are on exercise and the host country is providing the air transport.  For the DSRV it's either the C-5 or AN-124 and since no one else operates the C-5, just chartering an AN-124 for the flight is pretty cost effective.

Yes, that's one of the ways the Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle gets around. Look here: www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/factfile/ships/ship-dsrv.html

Brit SA-80's. Lots of folks claim they suck big time, but I have a good friend who's an armorer in the Brit Infantry that says they're pretty good - better than they were after H&K reworked them. Shortcomings, for sure, but serviceable weapon and very accurate with a robust sight. Seem to kill Iraqis pretty good.

BTW, I have a friend here who has one, perhaps I can talk him into bringing it to Millers on Memorial day??

So did another one hit him in a non-armored part of his body, or do they give Purple Hearts for being shot, even if it never got through the strike plate?

Should have pinned the Purple heart on the plate...

Great pictures.... where do you get all these?

when you get shot, even wearing plates and a vest, it usually leaves a mark. a painful mark.

You have to hold the pistol sideways when looking through the viewing port on a ballistic shield. It is the only way to acquire your sights and still provide a solid base for recoil, although he appears to be getting tired and is holding it a little too low. Carrying the shield sucks. Also note the red splotches about halfway down the shield; simunitions hits.

Or are they all Barney Fife's with one 7.62x39 in their front pocket??
