How do you pay for the guns you buy?

Work a little OT?
Save a little from each paycheck?
Splurge and clear out the savings?
Spend the Tax refund?
Have a second job?
Bonus money?
Credit Cards?

I personally (most of my guns before I quit to go to school) worked Overtime and used that and my Shift Differential to pay for my hobby. Now, I work too many hours at my part time job and trade off the guns I have for something I want more.

I used to use layaway alot 10% down and we order what you want, if there was a wating list you have it paid for when it gets there. now I use my visa for stuf that I have to have right now. I have taken out loans to buy a gun. 90day notes are a good thing

I'm planning on exporting some black market surface to air missles....
I restrict myself to two gun toys a year, hell I can go broke if I just bought whatever I wanted. Like rooster, single, and I'm self employeed with little overhead, this is a hobby, not the way of life for me. At this rate, in five years I'll have 10 more firearms than I already have, and that'd be a lot, I'll end up with a collection the size of Paul's.

I take 18 hours of class each semester, year-round. I work part-time for 10 hours a week, nearly minimum wage.

Suffice it to say, the one gun (AR15) I DO have, I saved up for about 4 months for. Only now do I realize I'm spending about what I paid for the gun, in its accessories...damn the AR!

I do a little saving, what ever I can hide from my Girlfriend. then I will put it on lay away when I geet around half the money and make payments every 2 weeks. If I can get some over time in to help to get it payed for thats great.

Last year I donated a kidney. Year before that I donated 10 gallons of plasma (um plasma rifle). This year I plan on donating a cornea.My right eye of course since I shoot left handed. Since I have never smoked anything I think I can survive off of one lung for the rest of my life maybe um um. No I need the extra lung in case I start deep water scuba diving. Actually though I have on liscense as an organ donor. Right now I'm between college sentences, so I'm buying what I can now before I go back to school.

Use to be salary + commission in my previous co. Salary paid for the bills and commission paid for my fun. If I wanted to have GREAT fun, I hustled and traded or sold more bonds. But I lived in CA so I couldn't really buy guns.

I moved to TX and now I'm on salary only, to top it off I took a pay cut. So I can buy guns I want now, but no money to do it.

I used to save up the money and buy the gun when I had the cash. Then I started using the plastic. I have one credit card maxed right now. The other one has about $350 on it. Damn this poor paying part time college town job. I need a job where I can make lotsa money. Anybody got any ideas? I graduate in December.

Save a little at a time. Pay cash in private sales when possible. Got a wife, 3 kids and a mortgage, so it takes a while.

Sometimes regular pay, sometimes charge card but most of the time with bonus money. Although lately I have been feeling guilty and have spent some money on my wife and on fixing my house. But I think I'm past that now. [:)]

Have (had) a separate fund for cars and weapons, not co-mingled with household expenses. But they can barrow from each other from time to time. Pay in cash, private sale prefered. Do you have a "premium" you would pay to avoid a 4473? I sure do. Depends on what it is, $50 is no big deal. And no taxes. One time, I recieved "moving expenses" from the city of Cleveland(anti-gun)for relocating. I promply purchased an AK with some of the funds.

Worked hard in school, got a good job, got my Engineering license, got good pay.

I'm so ashamed. (Isn't that what Rush calls Affluenza?)

I knew growing up I had expensive tastes, so I made sure I had an income to accomodate them.

Mostly I buy guns when I have some overtime (I'm a non-exempt salaried employee). I bought my first AR with nine days of unused vacation reimbursement. $he wa$ pretty pricey.

Among the perks of being an LEO is having lots of off duty employment opportunities on the side that pay cash. If I want something I work a little extra while I shop around. If its something that can't be passed up I just buy it. I always keep a little cash stash for toys.

Primarily for ARs and 1911s, buy one part, or one set of parts, a month. Easy on the pocket book and the wife, who owns an AR, does not mind. As for the rest, just do it when finances allow which may mean saving. Yes, I can be patient.

Mostly just pay for them out right. Can only do that about three times a year. I work for the FAA, so I travel to OKC alot & use the per deium (sp) to splurge. The trip in August will = a new Glock. Also, 90 days same as cash at gun shops is also cool.

I usually do side jobs for cash, then once I have enough fundage, I'll pick something up. The rest of the time I just dream about what I can't afford.

I never realized that you can do lay-away on firearms...hmm... is that usually local mom&pop shops only? or can you do it at the larger stores, like Galyans or Wally World?....I might have to check w/ my local gun dealer....

My wife and I have good paying jobs and no kids... yet.

We don't drink or do drugs and don't go out much except for dinners so we have have enough to pay cash for our passion (clothes and shoes for my wife and guns/ammo/accessories for me). I usually have enough cash to buy anything I want but I don't go crazy.

Next year my wife will double her salary which will come in handy when we order our new 38' sailboat for crusing the Caribbean.

We both grew up poor so we save a lot of our money but we don't deprive our selves either.

A long time back I was thinking about selling my plasma to help fund my growing gun collection.

If it wasn't for the fact that I would puke and passout due to having such a phobia of needles I believe I could have pulled in around 150 bucks a month by selling plasma at the local plasma donation center.

5 months for a nice handgun or 10 months for an M1A, isn't such a bad plan, just wish I wasn't such a wuss or I'd do it.

My per unit price keeps going up. It used to be $200 per, now it is about $500 per.

Overtime got me my last 2 guns (AR15A3 Colt Tactical Carbine and Glock 23) and accessories (Beta C-Mag, 30 rd mags, Tactical light and C-More Tactical). I am thinking of trading a few of my collector guns (WW2) for something different, like maybe a Broomhandle if I can find an affordable one.
