Pure rock and roll, none of this wussy ass "musical talent" or "layered tones" BS. Down-n-dirty, loving it rock.
Yep that would of course be AC/DC's Giving The Dog A Bone The most eloquent lyrics. The greatest Vocalization of what man really thinks ever recorded without being rated NC-17 or barred from airplay. Kick ass. Ok. Feel free to try and unseat that one. |
I strongly disagree, the greatest rock song ever is Panama by Van Halen.
Ted Nugent- Free For All you fucking pussy. One fucking chord. He made a kick ass rock song with ONE FUCKING CHORD. Now that is a man.
Led Zeppelin "Trampled Underfoot" - that's what all real rock and roll is all about. ... or anything else by Zep |
Good choice, i like that one too...one of their better ones. Just not quite *IT* though.
But can't really go with this thought. |

Rolling Stones "Honkey Tonk Women"(most on the edge song ever), The Who "Won't Get Fooled Again"(best power chords and scream in the history of music) and "Long Live Rock"(party on!), Def Leppard "Pour Some Sugar On Me"(just nasty), The Beatles "Helter Skelter"(raw), Led Zepplin "Whole Lotta Love"(POWER), and for sheer energy the Nuge with "Turn It Up".
I personally think that Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" is the best, but you guys would think I'm gay. CW |
All your choices suck.
Sorry, just slipped out. The greatest rock song of all time, of course, is "Ice Cream Man" by VH. Didn't you guys know that? |
Pink Floyd
Great Gig in the Sky End of conversation! At least from my side! "And I am not frightened of dying any time will do I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it you've gotta go sometime." "If you can hear this whispering you are dying." "I never said I was frightened of dying." (Instrumental) |

"Rock 'N Roll" too many choices to narrow down to just one. From Chuck Berry, Elvis all the way to Led Zep and here are some of my favorites.
Chuck Berry "Johnny B Good" Elvis "Jail house rock" and of course "Satisfaction" form the Stones. Definitely Led Zep.... |
ProfessorEvil, you sir were close. AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" is the epitome of the entire finger in the air, live to excess rock-n-roll life style. Closely followed by Iggy & The Stooges Metallic K.O. version of "Cock in my Pocket"! rocko.
"Voodoo Chile, A Slight Return", Hendrix version. Followed closely by "Whole Lotta Rosie", AC/DC w/ Bon Scott.
Both songs instantly recognizable from the opening riff...and they still kick major ass, decades later. |
Iron Maiden, The Trooper
or Suicidal Tendencies, How will I laugh tomorrow |
Close, but NO CIGAR! Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here Now that's the best song from the best album in History! Eric The(ComfortablyNumb)Hun |
Somehow sober it just doesn't measure up. |
Back in Black by AC/DC is a winner.
Stranglehold by Ted Nugent is also a winner. |
No way!!! ANIMALS is the best PF album ever! Although Wish You Were Here is good also. How can you not love a two minute synthesized dog barking solo? |

Highway to Hell - AC/DC
Du Hast - Rammstein Straight Outta Compton - NWA |
Being a AC/DC fan, almost any song that these guys have could be rated best R&R song ever, in my mind at least...
There is just something about their music that gets the adrenilin flowin. But to narrow it down, I will go with my top 5 songs in order from 5 to 1, 1 being the best. 5. Whole Lotta Rosie 4. Lets Get It Up 3. Back In Black 2. If You Want Blood You've Got It 1. For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) Now don't get me wrong, I love some Nugent, Pink Floyd, Zep, hell, I even like some Kid Rock tunes. But for me, AC/DC is the Best of the Best! |
Mmm Bop - Hanson.
It has everything a good rock song must have... Great beat, catchy "hook", unintelligible lyrics, simplistic repetition.........and.....it's easy to dance to. I give it a 98. |
OH geez, this was played on the radio more than Innagaddadavida or American Pie and every lame ass guitar player that can't play a song plays the first few riffs and then falls on his ass. "Whole Lotta of Love" was ten times the song. Might as well as have said "Something" by the Beatles. It still plays regularly in elavators. Tj |
Has to be "You shook me all night long" Always been, always will be.
Good grief gentle hobbits...
Have we forgotten the almighty Hendrix? "Purple Haze" If not him, then most definately Metallica's "One" |
Iron Man - Sabbath
We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister (good rebellion song) We Will Rock You - Queen Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen ahhhhh...There is also a song by Quiet Riot that was cool and I can't think of the name of it.... |
I'll take "Hounddog" over "Jailhouse Rock" Best Rock Song Ever? Inna godda davida, Iron Butterfly Nights in white satin, Moody Blues Black magic woman, Santana Suzy Q, CCR |
Highway Star...Deep Purple. The live cut off of 'Made in Japan'.
This song just kills, and it is just the first song of the night. It sure sounds like a finale. It seems that band was hungry back then. |
One of their worst, most overplayed songs. Get a Steppenwolf CD or 2. Most of their best stuff you never hear on the radio. |
It would have to be; The Right Stuff by the New Kids On the Block.
