It's worse than a damn suppressor wait, I think mostly because I tried to forget about the suppressor!

I'm waiting on one in which I'm at the 7 week mark of a 4-6 week lead time with no response from company, another where I'm at the 6 week mark of a 4-6 week mark with a fairly responsive company, and day 9 of a "rushed" order holster that was promised to me by yesterday, still with no shipping info and ghosted comms.

Not gonna bash, it seems consistent in the industry. I'm sure they're slammed but a little communication goes a long way, especially when we've crossed the lead time threshold.

I guess the better question is, what is the longest annoying of time you've waited OVER the lead time?

Maybe a week?  I don’t order from companies whose ship time is worse than a NFA item

This is what I figured, as it wasn't just one company. It's all good, as I have other holsters for other guns, but damn I want these to carry my new pair of hellcats!

Months for a custom holster when I bought my first handgun.  Guy called me months later asking if I still wanted it, he was cleaning his shop and found that his cat had knocked my order form behind his table.

I ordered a bunch of stuff during the most recent Safariland Black Friday Sale. It’s the middle of January and I haven’t received anything yet other than the e-mailed receipt.

I’m not complaining. They said orders could take 30 days or more. I am just hoping I eventually get my stuff.

You guys are bummin’ me out. I ordered a Mernickle holster yesterday. The order page for the holster said 2 to 4 weeks and the order confirmation email said 8 to 10 weeks,??

Slight update:
My holster maker with the 1 week turn around time emailed me back. Turns out it will be a 2 week turnaround time. As long as it is, we're all good. If not... Probably gonna want that rush fee back. Will let you know if I make and more leeway with any of the 3...

The holster for my TSO arrived yesterday, and I am very happy with it.

Website claimed it would take 4 weeks, but it took twice that.

I'm still happy with it.  Would recommend for a competition rig.

Custom made rigs from Black Hills Leather.

Tony does great work and it's worth the wait, but the turnaround is about 2-3 months or longer.

I think the longest I ever waited was a few months.

I make my own now and work by word of mouth. I consistently have at least a two month wait. Seems everyone wants custom leather right now and I’m certainly not complaining.

I can only imagine how hectic it is for some of the big name makers.

I love quality leather holsters, but it's always been a pet peeve of mine how long the wait is for some of them.

I understand "quality and craftsmanship take time blah blah blah",  but I'm also a small business owner who wouldn't be in business if I advertised a product that's never in stock and takes months to get after you order.

For instance, I don't know if del Fatti is still in business, and I truly don't give a fuck how nicely they sew two pieces of leather together, but a 2 year wait time is fucking ludicrous. There's no way even a one man shop can support itself with a 2 year lead time on a $150 product.

Agreed.

Lead times of a few weeks is fine because small holster makers can’t realistically keep inventory on hand.

6+ months? Hire some help.

Lol, I thought Sparks was a long wait but Del Fatti was running 2-3 years at one point.  Lou Alessi was a better holster smith than Del Fatti ever thought of being.

I cancelled one with a "4 week" lead time on week 8. Simple kydex situation, no leather or anything exotic at all.
Small shop too, no response on week 6's status inquiry. Used PayPal so I started the cancellation & refund process through them. Communication suddenly became a thing again, guy claimed it was done & ready to ship next day
I told him to give me my money back.
