My wifeand I were at the Ford dealership last week getting a couple of parts for her '03 F250 6.0L. One of the salesmen spotted it,and offered us $12k trade right there.

2016-2019 used F350 diesels are now more than what I was quoted for on a 2019 new F350 in March.
The same F350 I was quoted in March, for a 2020 is now 14,000 more. From 65,000 to 79,000. Completely insane. |

Heck they have trucks with 250k + miles that are going for $12k in town.

Quoted: The fact people will pay more than scrap value for an 07-13 Chevy with over 200k miles is insane alone. 05-06 GMs are going over $6k for clean pickups with over 200k miles. With new and used prices being as insane as they are, guess my 220k mile pickup is going to keep rolling. I am hoping for a price collapse soon to score a deal on a new or newer Tundra. Maybe once all the "$0 for the first 90 days of a loan or lease" get turned back in??? It's crazy. View Quote 06' 4 door ,118k.. Part of me wants to drop a for sale for 6k to see what will happen.... Holy carp! Just looked at craigslist. Same truck as mine with 10k less miles going for what I paid 2 years ago new. Maybe time to get an SUV. Or are those insane too?

There is an absolutely rough Gen 1 Toyota pickup on a forum I frequent for $3k.

People are buying vehicles as investments like gold or silver.
A guy with a job should be able to purchase and drive a 30 year old Porsche if he wants... That is out the window today as more and more people are buying dozens of older sports and muscle cars for the resale value.. Trouble is, the cost of storage and maintenance will one day bite them in the ass hard when the market collapses. Vehicles are NOT an investment, and in a sane world, a truck that you bought ten years ago should not be worth more than the purchase price when new. Absolute insanity! |

I wonder what I can sell my 2012 e350 125k miles on it with a bad bearing and my 2008 sprinter that needs a trannie for ?

I'm betting the uptick in truck prices is directly related to the massive uptick in RV sales.
Took my rv into the local CW for maintenance last week.. the lot is usually filled to the brim with new rv's to sell. They had maybe 2/3 of the lot empty. |

What's the best resource for researching current value? KBB? I have a 2014 Chevy 1500 LTZ w/ the 6.2l and have been thinking about getting a new truck in December.

Some of that cost was on me for getting the entire truck painted Vs. just 87% of the truck painted. I also upgraded the front end so it will look more like this: I was debating to let it go to salvage and get another truck or buy it back and fix it. I was looking around and to replace it with something I could use was going to cost 20k at the minimum. I tow a 44ft enclosed trailer so a gasser is/was not an option. I have a manual and those are getting harder to find as well. I know the faults of this truck and also don't have any of the newer diesel BS they are mandated to have now. The fact I was able to keep my title clean sealed the deal. |

I have a 2018 Tundra Crew CabMax 4x4. 15k miles. Second owner, I bought from a large used dealer in town.
Legal tint windows and factory bed liner, and after market bed cover (the nice roll up kind). Everything else is factory. KBB said 41k which is more than I paid for it. How accurate is KBB in the 2 minutes it took them to send my truck through an algorithm for pricing? Its my third vehicle, so I could part with it. |

If you are in a decent sized market, KBB even has dealers set up as buying centers that will buy your vehicle for what KBB quotes you. |
