The most important detail of this product.
Made in the USA, the reticle is made in the UK. Does this mean existing stock of Gen 1 is going on clearance? ETA: Looks like Gen 1 is pretty well gone already, a few places have them for $399 but you can order Gen 2 for $450 so meh. |

Bought one of the first batches with the blossoming/blurry reticle and thought it was my astigmatism until I looked in a new production model last year and it was clear. |

interesting.. way cheaper than the eo tech, I love the 65 moa reticle.
I'll have to keep an eye out for this. What does this mean for gen 1 prices? Hopefully some deals to be had. |

I thought the originals were cool, but never bought one.
What are the primary improvements with gen 2? |

Does the built in mount work with a Scalarworks Lower 1/3 magnifier mount?

AMG® UH-1® Gen II vs. AMG® UH-1® Gen I |

I really like my Gen1, so I’ll keep my eye on this. I don’t really need NV, and would have loved to see them shave an ounce or two off and increase the battery life, but I’m not overly worried about it.

Quoted: Way cheaper? I just got a 512 Eotech for $400 from a sale at PSA. View Quote Except you don’t have to worry about this being garbage and breaking just sitting in the safe, and if it does Vortex has excellent CS and a lifetime warranty as opposed to EOjunk who will straight up ignore your RMA for a month like are with me right now. Brand new XPS3-0. Faded reticle right out of the box. |

View Quote Added 4 night vision appropriate reticle brightness settings and a button to activate them Made the rear window bigger to improve the field of view Shaved off 0.8 ounces Changed to a toolless battery cap Did away with the USB port for charging rechargeable batteries |

Any word if it will be offered in any color other than black?

I have a Gen 1. The only reason I would upgrade is for the wider rear window and maybe the tooless battery cap...wish they just sold those separately. I don't need night vision capability. I wish they had completely eliminated the tint and put the buttons on the side for those of us who use a magnifier.
Still, I might try one and sell my Gen 1, though I guess the used prices for those just took a hit. |

~1,000 hour battery life and no shake awake?
That totally eliminates it from HD use for me. I want my optic on and ready to rock the second I pick up my rifle, no fumbling with buttons under stress to turn it on. Aimpoints have good enough battery life to leave on 24/7 and change the battery once every few years. |
